i wouldnt want to get iverson because he cant play pg with davis there and if we put him at sg, then eric gordon wont develop.

the only reason id want to get iverson is for the clippers to get noticed. we'd probably have a few more nationally televised games and we would be talked about a lot but hes not a good fit for our team. iverson does look good in a clippers jersey though.

Boy, Iverson + Baron = disaster. They're going to get into a fist fight over who's going to touch the ball more. Both guys are volume shooters...and both need the ball in their hands to be effective.

A.I. looks good(No Lance Bass) in Clips R/W/B

I must say the Clipper uniform looks good on him. If he wanted to come over for the MLE then I'd bring him over and worry about the rest later, but I don't see that happening. The Iverson in LA ship has sailed. Although an Iverson/Davis back court sounds exciting, I agree that it's a recipe for disaster plus it would impede the growth and progress of Gordon. We'd be better off sticking to the plan and stacking our chips for a PF in 2 years.

Joe Johnson, anyone?!

A JJ/BD backcourt = greatness.

The best opportunity for the Clippers will be a trade- Mobley + TT's expirings could add up to a good impact player in the $10 milion range (just like Camby.)

Beyond that, I don't expect any huge moves next offseason. We will also have a MLE slot, which can add significant depth if the Clippers shop wisely.

If they just do those 2 things, the team will take yet another step forward next offseason. Thornton and Gordon will be 1 and 2 seasons into their career, so we will have a better idea of what they are capable of as well.

for the of you who dont know, iverson excells best at SG, sure he can play both the 1 and the 2 but he's more productive at the 2. seeing iverson and baron in the back court would be interesting since they both need the ball to produce theyre numbers but both of them do average 7+ assists so it might help the team at the same time to add iverson to the clippers

PG/SG....all you need to know is he needs to dominate the ball to be effective. Iverson would do best with a pass-first guard who defers to him like the days of Eric Snow in Philly. Baron is definitely not pass-first. Actually, he would be much more successful if he played alongside a star forward/center who can score. I don't think he's ever had that luxury.

He isn't a very good spot up shooter and Baron is the better play maker so they would clash. It just wouldn't work.

I would have loved to get Iverson a couple of years ago, but now is not a good time. With Baron we don't need him.

How about Shawn Marion? I don't know what our cap situation is for next year but he'd be a great pickup.

Anybody have a list of free agents for next year?

I think this is the right list...

http://www.realgm.com/src_freeagents/2008/

James Singleton seems to be the best player on that list. >.>

RealGM has their Summers wrong.

But yeah, the 2009 FA list is not very impressive. But holy cow 2010 is going to be fun!

That's for the list. It may not be full of superstars but there's some names that would look good in the Red, White and Blue:

Shawn Marion
Jason Maxiell
Nate Robinson
Marvin Williams
Drew Gooden
Leon Powe
Allen Iverson
Linas Kleiza
Luther Head
Trevor Ariza
Rashad McCants
Andrew Bynum
Jamario Moon

Maxiell really sticks out on that short 09 FA list IMHO
