LAC-UTH trade

Hey guys, just wondering what you guys think of the trade below. This trade, like most, proposed isn't very realistic, but its been a slow summer.....
LAC
Outgoing: Kaman
Incoming: Okur, Millsap
UTH
Outgoing: Okur, Millsap
Incoming: Kaman
LAC does this because they now have Camby and Kaman, 2 centers and no power forwards. With this trade they have the option of playing Okur or Millsap at PF. While Okur isn't the same defender as Kaman, he is a more versatile offensive player who can stretch the defense and with Camby interior defense seems to be a nice mix. Millsap, as you all know, looks to be a good player who could start at pf in the league and is a solid defender, albeit very undersized. Millsap has to be included as Kaman for Okur is pretty one sided for UTH and we can't trade our garbage for their starters. Finally, Okur's contract is shorter than Kaman, which may entice the notoriously cheap owner.
UTH does this because Kaman is a superior defender to Okur, averaged 2.8 blks and 12.7 rebs a game, is a legit center who can score down low. He would be perfect to anchor our soft defense. Losing Millsap and Okur is obviously a big risk, but Kaman is a special player who would instantly fill our biggest need at center. Also, IF boozer leaves, Kaman provides some insurance, he has shown he can be a go to guy and a decent fill in. Cap flexibility wise our situation is about the same or possibly better (depending on whether Okur opts out next summer).

No thanks. Kaman is now our #2 star (behind Baron). It would take a lot to pry him away. And Okur just isn't that good. He's a 7ft 3-pt shooter, not a real center.

We've had plenty of Okur/Kaman trades, and the response is no everytime. So odds are that this trade isn't going to make Clipper Nation say yes.
And I say no as well.

Camby has played PF in the past. Not sure why you guys keep saying Kaman/Camby won't work. It's always the "both are centers" or "both have no low post offensive game" so one has to go.. We're happy with our players. Thank you~
Also.. We sure as hell won't trade our younger center if a trade occurs. Camby will be gone before Kaman. I can assure you that.

I like both of the Jazz players, but I wouldn't give up Kaman for them. We have a talented young player who'll be in the top 5-7 centers for years to come and has a very favorable contract. Also, the cheap owner stuff needs to die down. He has been paying players and is willing to spend for talent.

Kaman/Camby > Okur/Millsap
I don't see why you like this.

Okur is the exact opposite of Kaman and Camby's games. Right now that's the last thing the Clippers need. We need players who actually play defense and don't just sit on the three point line.
Millsap is nice, but not at the expense of Kaman.

Our German Olympian better not go down this season

Without Kaman, we have no low post presence on offense. Camby has a decent mid range jumper and can't play on the inside. Okur has no post up game, and I'm not too sure on Millsap's offense. He's just a hustler right? Even then I'm sure Kaman would do better than him down low. Without a good inside/outside game we won't have the floor spread out for our guards.

True. Losing Kaman this year would be the equivalent of losing "brand" (if that is his real name) last year. I'm really excited to watch dude play simply because....hey, Baron made Andreis Beindrins look like a borderline All-Star...can't wait to see what he can do with a center who has talent!

+1. Without Kaman we go from one of the best low post teams the last few years (with Bland and Kaman) to a team with zero low post threat in Okur and Camby. No deal.

I'd be willing to trade Kaman and Thomas for Boozer and Korver. I think the salaries match pretty close, Okur could move to PF for the Jazz and AK-47 can also get some minutes at PF.

Good points. The only thing I would add is that Millsap is a raw but promising players, in limited min behind boozer he has put up some good numbers. His game is inside the paint, where his moves are limited but effective.
A little off topic, but what kind of offense are the clipps going to have this year, are you guys going to have a more open offense (similar to the one the warriors used, where baron was given free reign) or a more traditional half court.

Supposedly, run-n-gun so I hope Kaman can keep up 'cause Camby, Baron, Mobley, Thornton, Gordon, Ricky D and White Choc will do fine for us in that system.

It'll be a mixture of both, I'm thinking. Run when you can but Dunlaeavy loves the post-up game way too much to give that up. This is the same guy who lets Tim Thomas post up.
