Eh, Powell is decent but he's nothing special. Skinner does everything Powell could do for us and is a better shot blocker.

.
He won't get a lot of minutes, but good luck to him as he plays on the same floor with different symbols.

Yeah, but some of us still liked him. It would be nice for him to go to any other team but the icky Lakers.

Powell should get some minutes if they want to go for defensive purposes. They are a little thin at the 4, with Radman and Odom (both who play more like 3's) backing up Gasol.
Good luck Josh!

Powell will be fine as a Laker, this wouldn't be the first time that the Lakers have signed one of our former players. I do like Powell, but as mentioned before Skinner does what Powell did.

^ Powell is a hard worker, and very athletic. Has a good jumper from about 10 feet (hit a baseline game-winner for us once) and defensively, he's pretty good-- if he wasn't, he wouldn't have gotten a minute in Dunleavy's system. He started off last season very shaky and inconsistent (but his minutes were inconsistent at the time as well), but once he got rolling, he was a valuable piece for us. I believe his career high is something like 21 points that came against Portland last season. I think he'll do a nice job filling in Ronny Turiaf's shoes-- he won't bring Ronny's ferocity to the court, but he'll be a solid 10 for that other LA squad.

He started off pretty slow for us last year. He was kind of like the Kwame Brown of the Clippers. Looked a bit confused, and mishandled the ball a bit. During the course of the season though he improved quite a bit. If he can stay that way you have a pretty solid backup PF.

I would have rather he'd go to Philly and join Judas then play against us with a chip on his shoulder 4x this season. I guess he's the new Turiaf minus the goofy dance moves.

Considering that Turiaf is making $5M this season while Powell is likely getting the minimum, I'd say that's a good swap from the Lakers perspective.

It is a good pickup for them and definitely at the right price. It's funny because my uncle and I were talking about Powell shortly after we let him go and he was hoping he would join the Lakers. I'm happy that he's found his way onto another team. See ya October 29th Josh.
