Clippers sign Paul Davis

I'm totally shocked by this move. Is his contract guaranteed? Dunleavy always keeps one open spot on the roster just in case of injuries. I guess with our current team he can just pull from the bench if he uses an 8 or 10 player rotaton.

Sweet, we now have most of the Davis' in the league! We are now officially contenders. Now to get Glen Davis...and we will be champs.

Hurray. I'm glad he's back on the team. I don't think he'll get many minutes with all the recent acquisitions we've made though.

Paul Davis knows Dunleavy's system and was moving up in the rotation before he got injured. I'm very pleased with this re-signing.

I like the signing since it will allow the Clippers to send Jordan to the D-league to develop for a season or two. Skinner fills the role of Aaron Williams on the the last 2 Clippers teams, hopefully with some more productivity.

I was pleased when I heard about this move. P Diddy and B Diddy...nice. I'm glad to see Paulie get another shot after his injury.

I would rather give mins to Jordan instead of Davis. With our new high octane offense, I think Jordan is better suited for it, I mean the guy runs the floor like a gazelle. Plus he's a better shot blocker than Davis.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a good signing, P-Diddy will provide some nice insurance for our bigs.

I was wondering if he was going to be brought back. He consistently participated in team-related events through the offseason, even after being renounced. I was personally hoping for him or Ross to return after Livy took his name out of the hat, I'm glad to have him back. He started to come around a little bit before he went down with the knee injury last season. His loss was Powell's gain, but it would have been good to see how Davis would have performed if given the opportunity that Powell had in the 2nd half of last season.

It seems that Dunleavy has made a personal vow to not lack any points or bigs after the horrible injury-plagued season that we had last year. 4 pgs and 7 players over 6'9"

P. Davis will be insurance. I don't expect him log any real minutes unless one of the other bigs go down with an injury...which will happen in all likelihood. I have to agree with illastrate about playing Jordan rather than P. Davis though. I think he has some real potential to be a key role player.

DJ is way too raw at the moment but I like what he can possibly bring to the 09/10 Clip team.

I don't mind that Paul Davis is back but I would have liked to see us sign Ross.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I'd like to see DJ and possibly Taylor (if he sticks) see some D-League action at some time during the season. Dunleavy hasn't used it up until now, so who knows. They've surprised us by being proactive this summer, so maybe they'll handle the younger players differently as well. I figure Dunleavy's going to want DJ banging with the bigs in practice and getting a feel of the game from the vets. Jordan will probably get some garbage minutes, but if he's not really seeing any pt after a few months, I hope that they'll send him down to get some actual playing time.

This makes complete sense. While not likely, Paul Davis does have the potential to be one of the top centers in the league. Q-Ross on the other hand has probably already peaked.

Solid and neccessary move considering the Clips only have three true big men in Kaman/Camby/Skinner while DJ probably won't be able to contribute for at least anothr season. I've always been a fan of Davis and he's scored well on Hollinger's rating test things so I've got hope for the kid. Even though Taylor obviously dosn't play the same position as Davis, Taylor had better have a good camp or else he could get cut, leaving the roster at 14.

I coulda swore we had signed him. :nonono:
I guess B.Diddy will get some burn @ SG depending upon who we face.

We withdrew the QO on Williams right before we made an offer to Azubuike.

Gordon is really going to have to fight for playing time. Ricky will likely see some consistent time at sg and Diddy is also likely to log some minutes at the 2. lol unfortunately that's wishful thinking in regards to Timmy. If he's healthy, Dunleavy will probably have him be 2nd off the bench.

davis is pretty good interms of filling that 9th-12th man role. he can come in defend/rebound and hit that mid range pretty well.
