The Miami Herald just posted a story reporting that former Clipper Shaun Livingston is ``within hours of joining the Miami Heat.''

The story also indicates that ``The addition of Livingston likely will lead to another significant transaction, with Riley vowing to keep his team from the dollar-for-dollar luxury tax on excessive payroll.

``Among the options for the Heat could be trading the likes of Daequan Cook or Dorell Wright into another team's salary-cap trade exception, possibly with the incentive of also including a second-round draft choice and cash.''

I wish him the best. It was unfortunate how it all played out, but I'm rooting for him to make a complete comeback to this league.

I would have been pissed if he ended up down the hall. So I'm happy he's headed out to the east coast. He actually has an opportunity to be a key player in their future if he's able to make a full return.

I knew Pat Riley was lying he loves to stir up hype before he goes for the move.

Well Livi is gone and to the Heat, they are making moves to solve the PG problem but they still don't have a solid starter.

So with all the Livi stuff done, MD won't have to wait by the phone for Livi to call lets make a move.

Schweeeeeet for Miami. I never got to see Shaun play much seen he was with the clips, but what I saw, I liked. I've seen a couple of youtube mixes. Anyone care to share the fan's view of him?

I hope he does well in Miami. I was still hoping somehow he'd end up back here, but this is probably the place he's most likely to flourish.

Livingston will never live up to his potential. A lot of teams passed on him before Miami decided to bite the bullet. I have serious doubts that the guy can play more than half a season without getting hurt. If he's healthy...I'll believe it when I see it.

His defense against quick guards was already poor pre-injury. It can only go downhill. Outside of great court vision, passing and the occasional block, he doesn't bring much else to the table even when healthy. His outside shooting stroke is poor and awkward looking. At his peak for the Clippers, he was still only a 10pt/6 asst type of player and never did break out.

^Its funny how Clipper fans wouldn't have never said that when he was playing. When we faced the Suns seasons ago, a lot of fans would pretty much overrate him and Suns would criticize him, pointing out pretty much what GuyverX just said. Hah. There were also some Clipper fans that agreed with those criticisms and regret taking him over Harris. Although, he wasn't that bad of a defender. Didn't our 'defensive' line-up consist of Livingston and Ross on the opposing guards? All Livingston needed when he was with the Clippers was a jumpshot. He did take advantage of smaller guards.

I really do hope for the best with Livingston. I liked his potential when he joined the Clippers, and even though he probably won't live up to it due to injury, he's a good guy.

Even when he was with the Clippers, I said Livingston could not keep up with the quick PGs of the league. He was being burned by 2nd stringers at times. Pretty much everybody agreed that he had a horrible outside shot and was a bad spot up shooter. Having Ross and Livingston at the same time was to cover up Livingston's deficiencies on the defensive end. Ross almost always covered the opposing PG...much like he did for Cassell. Livingston is much better suited for defending SGs than PGs. If he's in the lineup, you'd better have an off-guard that's fleet of foot. After the injury, I don't know if he can do that anymore.

Of course when the guy is on your team, you don't want to bash him too much but once they move on, it's much easier to voice these things with no hesitation. It's the same thing with Brand.

It truly is a new era of Clipper basketball. I think the only players we have left that went to the playoffs were Mobley and Kaman. It's strange to me to think how much the team has changed and our make up was very different a few seasons ago.
