67-59 Clippers at halftime.
Ricky Davis (5-8 FG, 4-6 3PA) & Al Thornton (2-5 FG, 10-12 FT) have put up 14 points a piece. Novak came in and scored 12 points on 3-5 shooting from beyond the arc. I read that Taylor set Jordan up for an Alley-Oop. I would have liked to have seen that one.

102-94 Clippers with 5:24 left in the 4th.
Gordon got into early foul trouble (I think he had 4 at half time). He entered in the 4th and knocked down back to back 3's to extend our lead.

Sad. We're down to reading about plays. Not watching or hearing but reading.

Thornton 15/20 from the line. Corey who?

Iam having a good laugh over here.
In Europe there are clowns who think the difference between european leagues and NBA is smaller than before and some even think that NBA is in a worst level.
Clippers playing at 50% without theyre 3 best players beat one of the best European teams playing with all the players, LOL, good laugh here.

Clippers close out the game with the victory. 114-109.
Thornton had a big game with 23 points, 11 rebounds and
3 ASSISTS . He had a poor shooting night only connecting on 4 of 13 but got to the line 20 times. Gordon (17 points) had something like 12 4th quarter points. He shot well (6-7 FG, 2-3 3PA, 3-4 FT), and was able to get to the hoop with ease. Ricky had a very productive first half and ended the game with 16 points. Novak was draining 3's (4-9 from downtown). Mobley's line looks solid with 15 points, 2 rebounds & 2 blocks. He had some clutch baskets down the stretch. Taylor had 11 points, 6 assists & 2 steals. It's good to see him lowering his turnovers. I read on another board that Gordon also caught an alley-oop. It was probably Taylor who set him up as well. Nice win for the Clips without half of their rotation playing.

lol I tried to the radio, couldn't get good reception of the station. Then I tried the audio league pass and it was the Kings game playing.

Yeah baby 4-1 in the preseason anybody have the boxscore. Nice to see Novak is getting his touches and another solid game by EG. Damn Al went off on FC.
On a bad note as expected DJ is super raw on the offensive side. DL will help him develop so hopefully he can help the team in the future.

I'm just glad to see that we won. It is sad when all we can do is look at update from nba.com
I don't think the Euroleague will get up to the NBA level. Some European teams do beat NBA teams but it's only preseason and most of the time many players don't play or the NBA team has so little rest. A win is a win and glad to hear that some players did well.

lol at +/- for Ricky 22.
Seems like he played a very smart game and was careful with shot selection. We won this game through free throws.

For the record i'm American and in the US
There are clowns in the US that don't even think the euroleague is close at all to the NBA.
Also you cant say yourself what effort the Clippers were playing at, were you one of the players on the court? No. I very much doubt they were playing at 50%. These are guys trying to earn PT. It wouldn't help their cause to dog it out there.
Yes Barcelona is one of the best European teams, also take into consideration that they had to fly in to LA, play back-to-back games against NBA teams with the NBA rules. Also they are already into their regular season over in Spain so I could simply use the argument that they were playing at 50% as well since this is just an exhibition game for them and they don't want to get injuries to jeopardize their real season over in Spain. Also they only play 40 minute games opposed to 48 minutes, which may not seem a big difference, but it can be.
They also had to switch time zones, which is I believe a 9 or 10 hour difference between LA and Barcelona. And take into account that NO foreign team has ever beaten an NBA team on US soil ever. I'd say with that in mind Barcelona faired very well against the Clippers and Lakers

I was at the game yesterday . I bought two tickets for $40 and I thought that it was a good deal because it also included the lakers game . I sat up in the 300 section.
I really enjoyed watching it live, it was pretty fun and full of action. LA's offense looked good for most of the game , they were passing well and moving with out the ball. It was an uptempo game as you can tell by the final score. There some nice dunks; taylor threw a lob to D.J for a monster slam and then there was a lob to Gordon for a nice dunk. Barcelona had a small group of fans cheering for them. there seems to be good chemistry among the team , they looked like they are having fun. During shoot around before the second half I saw DJ tryn to guard Mobley and was knocking the ball out of his hands from behind when he tried to shoot it.
Baron Davis was in uniform and he was shooting around inbetween quarters. Eric Gordon looks confident out there , he was taking it to the rim with out fear and hit back to back threes at one point. Thornton looks super athletic and was attacking the rim as well. DJ missed free throws , and they were way off.
What I thought that sucked was that there were'nt any Clippper spirit dancers and no halftime show.
During the lakers game it was PACKED in there, they had their cheerleaders and a live band .

Wait, Baron was shooting around? J.A. Adande says the injury is so bad he needs surgery. If his hand is so messed up that heneed surgery, why would he be shooting around? I thought he was in pain. Either it's not as bad as some fans think or Adande is a liar.

Yes sir. I saw him (B.Bizzle) with my eyes. He was out there shooting around . His stroke looked good. Kaman was shooting around and he actually made a couple of them. Mike Taylor does a good job of breaking down the defense , but he still gets ahead of himslef at times. I havent looked at the box score yet but from what I saw Novak must have hit atleast 4 threes , R.Davis atleast 2 or 3 and Gordon 2 or 3 also. The 3 point shot was hitting, the fastbreak was great and the team attacked the rim . I think LA lacked the deep shooting during the Raptors game and that might have cost them the game.

Cool, thanks for the report, Petey. The think the only reason the Clippers lost that Raptors game was because they played Bosh and JO around 35mpg.

Thanks for the review Petey Pablo
It's good to know that the team looks like they are having fun together. Most critics pointed out that we had 9 new guys joining the roster, but this isn't the first time wheere we've seen a shuffling of the roster. I'll gladly exchange what we had last season for 9 new productive players. The chemistry will decide a lot, and I'm just glad that everyone seems to be on the same page so far. We just need to get them all on the same court.
Here's a quote from thecalminsanity of Clippers Topbuzz
I was at the game, there was UNBELIEVABLE chemistry. It was awesome seeing the players mess around with each other.
Ricky Davis was yelling and leading the team, like, well, a leader lol.
They were going crazy on every play (Like DeAndre's 3 blocks.. By the way, all 3 were Grade A SWATS... meaning he SPIKED the hell out of the ball towards the out of bounds line)
The lobs were great. Taylor did a pick and roll with Jordan and the lob was UNSTOPPABLE.. Too easy!
The lob for Gordon.. OH MY. I mean freaking AMAZING. Gordon and Hart running a 2 on 1 break. Picture perfect... Gordon dishes to Hart without even taking a dribble, and then Hart without taking a dribble VERY QUICKLY lobs it up to Gordon, almost like a tap pass. The pass was a little bad, it was flat as hell and was almost behind the backboard. Eric Gordon caught it down low, and basically WINDMILLED it in because he had to bring it back up to the rim.
Gordon looked like he was in college. He was ripping Juan Carlos Navarro like he was nothing. Crossed him at least 10 times, drove in like crazy, wow. He had a few VERY nice moves, and was passing it around alot.
THORNTON was unstoppable in the second half, in the first half he was a bit off because he was settling for outside shots. Later on, they gave him isolations, and he scored a few times in a row. Barcelona couldn't handle him so they were fouling him as he got to the rim... It was at least 4 straight times he got fouled and he also scored a few times in those consecutive possessions.
Tim Thomas had Taylor in a chokehold and they were both laughing (when they were walking off the court)
Each person has their own nicknames. Ricky Davis called Paul Davis "Big D", Coach Dunleavy was calling DeAndre Jordan "DJ", Eric Gordon was EJ, Al was Al, and a bunch of other nicknames were going around.
Possibly the funniest moment was when Mike Taylor got a "Carryover" violation.. And he was like "AWWWWWW" with like a high pitched squeaky voice. Cat Mobley was on the floor, near where the cheerleaders and cameramen sit, and he made fun of Mike Taylor by saying "AWWWWW" like Taylor did in an even squeakier voice, making a face while doing it... HAHA!!
For the Clippers game I was sitting 2 rows behind the Clippers' bench. So I heard them yelling and talking and everything. For the Lakers game, the majority of it we were sitting 2 rows behind the Lakers' bench and then we got upgraded to the floor seats right behind the basket- our friend has connections. (THE CHEERLEADERS WERE SITTING WHERE OUR FEET WERE!)
Another thing. I was talking to someone who is very close with Cat Mobley. Cat came up to her during the game, and she was talking to me about it... Cat is VERY VERY VERY happy, he LOVES this team and everyone is bonding very well. Cat says he's in the best shape of his life, also told her that he was very happy about this game. Very happy about his performance, and the team's performance as well. He looks great guys.
To recap it, it was a great day, lots of fun. I met Ralph Lawler again, and he remembered me. We talked for a little bit.. And on his way out I said bye to him and he waved. Also when Mike Taylor was on his way out I yelled MIKE TAYLOR!!!! And he looked at me and pointed, and smiled. Later on, Baron Davis walked in, and I yelled his name. He looked around for a bit but didn't see me haha.

Here's an article from the LA Daily News about the game
http://www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_1076 ... $TURNERID$The Clippers still have little idea what to expect from their two main off-season acquisitions. Well, other than the fact that Baron Davis likes to wear scarves instead of ties and every pair of jeans looks baggy on Marcus Camby.
But with each preseason game that goes by, they're learning a few things about the combo guard they selected from Indiana with the seventh overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.
Eric Gordon, it seems, can get hot. Blistering hot. And has a propensity to get hot in the fourth quarter, with the game on the line.
For the second time in three contests, Gordon erupted in the final period to help the Clippers win a game.
Gordon scored 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Clippers held off Regal FC Barcelona 114-109 in the first game Sunday of the Staples Center Shootout.
"He's a guy that can catch fire. He can make shots, he's good off the dribble, he can make plays, that's pretty much going to be his role," Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said.
"We thought that's what he could do, so he's really not surprising us, but it's still good to see."
Thursday in a victory over Sacramento, Gordon poured in 33 points in 31 minutes to help rally the Clippers from a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit.
"I'm just trying to get into the flow of the game, since I've only been playing in the second and fourth quarters," Gordon said. "But when I hit a couple of shots, I always get going. It's like that every time."
With the Clippers again without Camby (bruised heel), Davis (sprained finger) and forward Tim Thomas (groin), and starting center Chris Kaman taking the night off, it's a good thing he did.
Barcelona, which features four players with NBA experience and two others who have been drafted, found its shooting touch late in the game, almost erasing what had been as much as a 15-point lead midway through the third quarter.
Turkish-born forward Ersan Ilyasova, who played 66 games with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2006, led Barcelona with 20 points, 16 in the second half.
Point guard Juan Carlos Navarro, who torched the Lakers for 34 points Saturday night, had a relatively quiet 11 points on 2-of-10 shooting.
Second-year forward Al Thornton led the Clippers with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Thornton made only 4 of 13 shots, but made 15 of 20 free-throw attempts.
Dunleavy offered no updates on the status of his three injured veterans, but it's entirely possible all of them will miss the final three exhibitions.
Davis is scheduled to see a hand specialist today, Thomas said he was hoping to get back at some point this week, while Camby spoke only of being ready opening night.
"That's my goal," Camby said. "I really hate sitting on the sideline, especially being on a new team when you want to get that familiarity with the guys. ...
"But we've got like four or five days of practice after the last game of the preseason so hopefully we can get a lot accomplished, then and be ready to roll."
When asked if that meant he was going to miss the exhibition finale Friday against his former team, the Denver Nuggets, Camby said he probably would.
"I did (want to play), but I don't think no one will be playing in that game, for them either, " he said. "And we got them again pretty soon."
The Clippers open the regular season Oct. 29 against the Lakers.
