Season predictions

Post#1 » by jgustav1 » Tue Oct 28, 2008 4:21 am

It's that time again, the Clippers have completed the preseason schedule so make your season prediction.

I predict a 40-42 record, Taylor and Gordon have been upside surprises in the preseason but the health of Camby and Davis has been a concern.

If they manage to stay healthy for the majority of the season, I think that they could go 44-38.
If Kaman , Thornton, Gordon play great and consistent , they might go 50-32.
If things fall apart, well, 28-54 could happen.

I am just giving my opinion. I am no authority or Clippers member so please do not get mad at my thoughts.
You are either doing or not doing .

I'm going to stick with 45-37. Health is the key, although every Western team needs to be healthy or they themselves could be on the outside looking in. As long as Baron is good to go for the majority of the season, then I think this team can make some noise. We also need for Kaman to step up like he did last year.

I'm saying anywhere from 43-48 wins. We will struggle early on, but I have no doubt in my mind that this team will-start gelling. We just need our three point shooters to hit they shots and Kaman to stay focused on the court.

Based on our first preseason game (my only glimpse of hope and optimism) I would say 50+ wins.

In reality im going with 40+ wins. Potential is there, but as we all know health is going to determine how well our team will do.

You guys realize that you don't get to say 'I told you so' unless you pick a single number and stick to it? No wishy-washy "If this, then that" predictions... ;)

I'm going to say 44.

I'm going with around 45 wins, but I hope that we can win more than that. If we lose less it will be because of injuries.......

45wins. I doubt the Playoff race will need all 50 wins to get in so this may get it done in a low seed nonetheless.

Sorry Madmax, I'm gonna be wishy-washy, I refuse to put a specific number on it in hopes of not jinxing it for once! I bet we struggle early on but storm back and fall somewhere 6-8 in the West.

Good point madmax. If you give a number of wins or W-L record, there can only be one guess. Choosing anywhere from 28-50 wins depending on the team's health isn't a valid guess.

48-50 if Baron/Kaman/Camby can stay healthy for 75-78 gms. AL, Gordon, Taylor and the rest of the cast need to step it up all season though.

46-48 wins, 8th seed. After seeing Portland last night I think we can outlast them and make it in. And if Shaq gets hurt, PHX will fall as well. We could wind up being the 7th seed.

42-40 either an 8th seed or just miss the playoffs by a few games...

Maybe next year someone can be within 20 games of an accurate W-L prediction.

eeeek I was hoping this wouldn't be bumped. :(

lol that's just beyond sad

Next season I'm going to be a bit more conservative with whatever record I predict. They will have to really show me something in terms of offseason prep for me to stick my neck out there again.

Wow back in October I said 45 wins, lol. Like you MK I'm going to be conservative next season. I think I predicted good seasons the past two seasons for us and they turned out to be failures. I did call it with the injuries and I guess I'll have to see it to believe it as far as us having a healthy team.
