Marcus Camby went through his first, full-contact practice in nearly three weeks on Thursday, but the target date for his return is being set for Monday's game against Utah.

Camby hasn't been ruled out of Friday's game against Denver, or Saturday's game in Utah, but coach Mike Dunleavy said it was ``very doubtful'' he'd play.

I guess it's better that he miss games early instead of late in the season.

Of course he will be more than welcome as soon as he can enter the fray again, but I'd rather he miss another game or two and make sure he is ready to play than come back immediately and end up hurt and out again.
What happened to Oden is really unbelievable. Not that it was because he hurried back the first time, heaven knows, but it just reminds me that caution is not a bad thing with players so badly injured that they are out.
I'm sure pretty well everyone plays somewhat injured and/or in pain most of the time, to be honest. I expect that buckets of ice are their best friends during the half and after a game.

^ Cinnamon, your comment kinda reminds me of Livingston. I hope his knee holds up without too much trouble in Miami.

The Camby situation has been disappointing, but it is best that the injury happened sooner rather than later. The Nuggets will be without Melo and the Jazz will probably be without Deron Williams on Saturday, so we can manage until Monday. Hopefully he'll be ready to play by then.

Marcus Camby, who has been sidelined because of a bruised right heel, took another step in the right direction Thursday. Still, he said he would not play tonight against his former teammates, the Nuggets, aiming for Monday's game against Utah at home.

"Today was my first time in weeks having contact practice and all," Camby said. "For the most part, it felt pretty good till they pulled me out to ice it. I'm definitely just inches away from being out there on the court."

Dunleavy said Camby was "very doubtful" for tonight's game. The main concern is no more setbacks.

"When he's out there, he does so many positive things that we just can't have that missed time," Dunleavy said.

I really think MD should consider sliding Jordan into the rotation. The Nuggets style of play works in his favor fast on the run basketball. He can get quick block shot and can run the floor when needed and get putbacks.

This is an opportune time for DJ, E-Go and Mr. T to get some quality burn at their respective positions. Jordan more if MC is once again M.I.A.

DO IT Mike Dunleavy SR
