Who is Mike Taylor?

I was looking at the Jazz/Clippers box and noticed him. I see that you guys drafted him this past draft, and that he's presumably Baron's backup (although not for that game?!), but I know absolutely nothing else about the guy. What can I expect from him?

Well we didn't really draft him. I think the Blazers did then traded him to New Orleans first? then to us? Or just traded him straight to us. He is a great player IMO and is way better then Hart IMO.

Taylor is the first player drafted to the NBA from the Developmental League. He was drafted by Portland and traded straight to the Clippers I'm pretty sure. According to Dunleavy, the Clippers loved him coming into the draft, considered drafting him #35 but couldn't pass up on DeAndre Jordan at that spot. He reminds me a lot of Monta Ellis. Great motor, decent shot, and knows how to finish around the rim. He needs to learn how to switch up the tempo on the floor which will help make is speed more effective IMO.

He's a very slim, quick point who can get a piece of the paint whenever he wants to. He needs to fix/improve on a couple things including staying under control and his jumper. He does show flashes of being a solid NBA PG for the future years ahead.

According to Dunleavy, a lot of teams saw him as an undersized shooting guard. Dunleavy thought that he could be molded into a point guard, and at this point that is what he's trying to do. He has crazy athleticism. Some of his moves in preseason showed just how explosive he can really be. He's a pesky defender, and serves as a change of pace backup for us. The knocks against him have been that he needs to slow it down, he does force passes, he needs to limit his turnovers and could stand to work on his shot. I do like his potential and I am pleased with the trade to get him @ 55.

I have been pleased with Taylor's play so far this season. He will get better as he matures and improves as a player.
