It's election day and I'm curious to see how we voted, or among us the people who are able to vote. I wasn't part of realgm 4 years ago so I thought now we be a good time to see who people favor. Obama or McCain. I voted for Obama because I'm not a big fan of how Republicans run our country.

I prefer to keep my political preferences private, but this thing was definitely monumental. I liked both Obama and McCain's reactions after the results came in. I feel that McCain was very gracious in accepting his defeat, and Obama's speech and Grant Park gave me chills-- in a good way. This was my first time voting in a presidential election (my first time being of voting age) and I am thrilled to have been part of and a witness to history!

I have kept who I've voted for to myself and I plan to keep it that way as well. Today was history in the making and to witness and be able to one day pass this story down to my future children is a special thing. It's one thing to read about history, but to see it with your own eyes is mind blowing. I too thought that both gave good speeches after the results were in.

The crazy thing to me is that I never though that I would see a black president in my life time. Like you JJ this way my first time voting. I'm very proud of what happened last night and history is happening right before our eyes.

I think about how my ancestors were slaves and now we have a black man running our country, this really shows that many things are possible in our country. I hope this leads to more diversified politics and maybe we'll see an Asian or Latino president in the future.

What I like best about Obama's approach is that it is inclusive, and he always wants to seek common ground among people with extremely differing opinions and feelings.
Diplomacy can work wonders. I think, I hope, that this is the way of the future.

A huge step for our country in Obama's election. It's a historical milestone that I thought I might never see, even at age 26.

Proposition 8...the complete opposite. :nonono:

^ +1 on prop 8. Very, very disappointed in the California people.

I'm not old enough to vote yet, but I'm glad we have change coming along!
