Clippers Shopping Kaman?

According to a report in the New York Post, the Clippers are interested in trading Chris Kaman.
The Bobcats have been active in trade talks to upgrade their club and are reportedly interested.
Sources say, however, that Charlotte has no one of consequence Mike Dunleavy desires.
The teams are believed to be looking for a third team to get involved.

Music to my ears. Now we have to find a way to get rid of Ricky Davis and Trash Thomas.

I dunno.. Kaman is starting to play well, and doing this will only ruin the chemistry the team is starting to build.

Re: Clippers Shopping Kaman?
Kaman and Camby are redundant and Kaman doesn't fit in an up-tempo team. He's also too prone to making stupid mistakes despite his talent. If we could get a decent PF for him I would love to make a deal.

Couldn't happen - even if both parties wanted it to, on account of the PPP status of Okafor's freshly signed contract.

Re: Clippers Shopping Kaman?
Seems like you guys are trying to clear cap to maybe make a run at one of the many free agent pf's there will be next season. And you guys would have enough cap to add some other pieces to fill out that roster if you got rid of both Kaman/Mobley.
On one of the cavs boards we have an insider guy, he told us a few days ago that we have had talks with a team trading Anderson Varejao/Wally Szczerbiak/1st round pick. He wasn't able to give us the players or names from the other team because he can get in trouble but looking at salaries they match up well with Kaman/Mobely. And Varejao/Szczerbiak are both expiring, Varejao is gonna opt out. Don't know if the team is you guys but it just caught my attention when i read the article about Kaman/Mobley on espn insider.

PLEASE DON'T TRADE CHRIS KAMAN! Why would we really do this. He got 13.1pts, 10.4reb, and 2.1blk. He is shooting 51% (best on the team) who can we get? Move Camby to C and who for PF???? PLEASE TELL ME!

Re: Clippers Shopping Kaman?
As far as somebody being "available," I'm sure everybody on this team is fair game in terms of trade. You still have to listen to other teams' offers...that doesn't mean a certain player is on the chopping block.
I'm sure the Bobcats want Kaman. They probably talked to Dunleavy and Dunleavy said there's nobody the Clippers are interested in. Vecsey, then assumes Kaman is somehow on the block and writes his column. Hey, he needs material, I get it. Then all the sports sites report that the Clippers are looking to trade Kaman. This is how dumb ass rumors begin...

Re: Clippers Shopping Kaman?
This doesn't make sense to me. Why would we trade Kaman when he is starting to play better. Sure he has his dumb moments, misses easy shots, and turns the ball over. He wouldn't be Chris Kaman with out doing those things. Not many teams even have a DECENT center on their team.
I agree with guyv this is the New York Post, other side of the country and Vecsey is know for starting rumors and being dumb.
I also meant to add that this would mess with our chemistry as well. Our team is still feeling each other out and it would be good to get rid of someone that has been here awhile to get another player that is totally new.

I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Re: Clippers Shopping Kaman?
like others, its the ny post.
if they were shopping him, i would think his off the court comments and attitude towards the clips organization has a lot more to do with it than his on the court performance. i don't think there is any doubt he has a very low opinion of the franchise.

Re: Clippers Shopping Kaman?
I'm surprised that so many of you are interested in moving Kaman. I thought that he was much more popular. Guess not.
I'm sure that the Bulls would love to get Kaman.
If you guys are looking for a combo of cap relief/youth I'm sure the Bulls would be willing to offer a deal including Gooden (large expiring), Thomas/Noah, Sefolosha, and a pick. Nocioni, Hughes, and Hinrich would also be available.
So to summarize, basically everyone besides Rose, Deng (BYC), and Gordon (has to approve deal).

Re: Clippers Shopping Kaman?
I'd like to trade Kaman and Mobley to Atlanta for Joe Johnson and Zaza Pachulia. The Clippers would have a solid backcourt rotation with Johnson, Davis and Gordon. Pachulia and Paul Davis could play C for a season or two until D. Jordan is ready.
