Cat and Timmay Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by mkwest » Sat Nov 22, 2008 12:52 am

I really liked having Cat on the team and I will definitely miss his presence. To me he was an iron man, he played through injury, played on both sides of the ball, 8 inches taller than him and held his own. He may have been a bit overpriced, but aside from that I had no beef with him at all. Whenever he was hot, it was on. He came along with Sam and provided the veteran leadership that helped give us our best season in LA. He played his heart out in his last game as a Clipper and helped get our 2nd win. Thank you and good luck in the New York Cat.

Cuttino Mobley wrote:"I'm a little upset," he said. "It was a surprise. I mean, I liked our team. I didn't give up on our team. I don't know what the owner was thinking and don't know what anyone was thinking. I thought we were going to come around. It's hard. It's hard because I like all the guys a lot. It's tough."

Tim...hmmm....hmmm...umm....hmmm...he had a few nice games here and there where he actually impressed me. It's like everyone always said about Tim, he has the abilities and the tools to be a very good player, but you must have the will and determination that makes those tools mean something. Tim has frustrated me plenty of times, but Ricky has him beat. So that's a compliment to Timmay. Good luck in your reunion with Antoni.

Tim Thomas wrote:"It's a little shocking to have another chance to play in New York and to be able to play in the system under Mike D'Antoni again," Thomas said. "The way the season was going with the Clippers, you had to know something had to happen.

"From the beginning, once you get 10 new guys, it's going to take time for the guys to jell and to get an understanding. That just never happened."

I liked Cat a lot, but his services aren't needed now like they were before we had Gordon in Thornton. Like MK said, he came to play every night and he played through injury; I respect that. Timmy....well...good riddance buddy. And by "buddy," I mean "jerk."

It's a bit sad to see Cat go. The quotes they recited with his reaction makes it a bit worse. I'm sure he'll do great in NY with Timmy. Best of luck to them both.

Cat will be loved in New York and Timmy probably not so much. Cat has been a true professional in during his tenure Clipper. He's volunteered to come off the bench, has seen big names come and go and has never had anything negative to say. He is a true professional and I will be rooting for him in New York.

Cat will be missed. He's been great for the Clippers and he was one of the key players in our playoff run a few years ago.

I'm only sad to see Tim go because we won't have any cap space now.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Good luck to both players, Mobley was a little overpriced for what level he performed at, but played hard for the team and had a few big 30+ scoring nights. Thomas played OK at times, but had a better year in the first season when he could just come off the bench and shoot 3's. Not a guy you could rely on to be a starter after the Brand injury last year. Maybe Novak will get some more time to show what he can do as a reserve frontcourt 3 point specialist.
