First game with Randolph as a Clipper. It will be a big adjustment going from a team with a run and gun style to another team with a half court style and a terrible record to boot. Hopefully, Randolph will do decent from the field.

Okay, Randolph.
I'm the only one on this board who hated this trade.
Now please prove me wrong (and it's not as if it would be the first time I've made a thundering great error in basketball judgment.)
No one would be more delighted than I would.

Word on the street is that Kaman might get traded for Jason Richardson. It might just be a rumor at this point but there is a buzz. Clippers got killed by the Nets on saturday because they could not defend the perimeter. LA players also seem to have a hard time defend s/r or any thing that resembles an offensive play. I hope they can get out on three point shooters and contain CP3.
Randolph should be able to score on West and it will be fun to watch Baron go up against Paul.

Actually... you're not quite the only one
I only stayed away from ripping this whole scenario because despite my not liking the trade, I understood why it happened, if that makes sense. Maybe Z-Bo will be a godsend, maybe this will be a disaster, (I tend to lean toward the latter) but I'll hold my judgement until I've seen what Randolph really does for us. I've never liked him, he's always been one of my least favorites in the league (him and Ricky Davis, actually...), but I do remember him dropping 25 on us with seemingly no effort. With that said, welcome to Clipper Nation, Zach...and don't mess up!
So about the game...
New Orleans is not who you'd like to play when you're in need for a win, but they lost to Sacramento the other day, so who knows? CP3 is coming off a triple double the other night against OKC, so if we hold him...and David West...and keep Peja from going off...and keep Tyson Chandler off the boards...we could be ok!

We should get more than just Richardson for Kaman..
It should be an interesting game.. I'm sure all 3 big guys should get a lot minutes. I'm pretty sure we won't win this game, but it'll just be good to see how this new setup goes.

I was one that didn't want the Randolph trade to go down. With that said I hope this trade helps our team, we needed change and we got it. I really hate that we had to give up Mobley and our perimeter defense has struggled since he's been gone. I never thought that J Rich was that good of a defender, we've lost a lot of defensive pieces already and we would just be losing more if we get J Rich.
All that said I hope we can win this game. Any game is winnable but I'm getting tired of losing just like everyone else.

I am a big Clippers fan , as much as the next guy. But I have come to terms with the fact that our team's offense and defense is less than great. The perimeter defense is bad and our offense does not have much of a flow to it . Last season our defense was actually not that bad, the team just could not score enough thanks to knight, Ross, Dickau, Powel and who ever else I might of left out.
They looked more structured and diciplined on offense. I just do not understand why this season , even with the supposed upgraded positions, we suck so much. Can we go after Ross? I was watching a little bit of the Warriors vs Sixers game yesterday and Man , That guy Morrow can shoot.

Well, thanks to JJ and to numba2Clippersfan --- it's nice to feel less lonely in my opinions here. I was shivering a little as I posted on some of those welcome Z-Bo threads.
But I agree with you both that we need to hope for the best here, and I definitely do.
Go Clippers. Show your stuff with this new line-up.

I'm predicting victory tonight. Randolph will drop 15 and 8 and give y'all a glimpse of what's to come...in a good way.

Just got word that Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins will not be in uniform today because there has been some hold up with the physicals.

As long as we don't shy away from our hot players (ex. Thornton and Kaman last game). I think we stick with them, but what the hell are the odds of that hmm?

nba.com says the problem holding up the paperwork for the trade is a difficulty with Mobley's physical.
Anyone know what that's all about?
