Injury Updates

It's worth noting that trainer Jasen Powell probably saved Gordon a more severe injury by taking him out of the game when he did. Once the muscle tightened, it easily could pulled, snapped or evolved into a more severe injury.
Ramona Shelburne,
Inside the ClippersIt was a light day of practice and rookie guard Eric Gordon (sore hamstring) and Marcus Camby (sore heel) took it easy.
Gordon spent a lot of time stretching, and reported his leg was feeling better, saying, "It's just a little strain, it's not going to hold me back." Gordon left Saturday's game late in the third quarter and Dunleavy didn't want to take the chance of Gordon pulling his hamstring.
Lisa Dillman,
LA TimesKaman and Ricky are both likely to miss a couple of weeks. The earliest Kaman could possibly play is the 8th against Orlando.

Good to see they're not serious. However missing Kaman for a couple weeks may be bad since we won't know how the trio will work out.. Let's hope Ricky not only recovers from the injury, but also his jumpshot when he gets back. I'm sure he'll play the backup role to Gordon once he comes back.

Man, it sucks that Kaman is gonna be out, but hey... Randolph can fill his shoes so I ain't too worried! And I second what Fishy said about Ricky, maybe his poor shooting was a side effect of his injury. We can hope. With these injuries, we're lucky that Gordon and Camby won't miss any time (hopefully!).

I'm sure that the injury did hold Ricky back, all he was doing was shooting jump shots. I didn't see him drive or anything, and we all know how good of a dunker he is.
The injuries to Kaman and R Davis really thins out our bench. We will have to do the best we can with the rookie back court and a thinner front court. Since Ricky is out Jason Hart may get to play

Don't listen to me too closely on this one but I thought I heard that Kaman playing in the Olympics lead to this injury. Is that true at all? All the summer time basketball in addition to last season and what he's done this season.

Kaman and Ricky being out for a couple weeks could end up being a blessing in disguise allowing ZBO and Camby to build up chemistry then of course giving the majority of the SG minutes to EJ.

Wouldn't be surprised at all...he didn't look 100% in some of the games I watched of Germany.

Kaman's problem is he keeps kicking balls into the stands.
I think I do recall him saying that his ankle was still bothering him after the Olympics. I am not sure if it ever got the chance to be 100%

I had a feeling that the Olympics would affect Kaman's health this season, that's the reason why I didn't want him to play

I just hope he can get close to full strength this season.

^ I understand us Clipps fans would have loved to see Kaman sit, but you can't blame him for wanting to play in the biggest sporting event the world's got every four years. There's nothing like representing a country (even if it's not really your country) in the Olympics.

Kind of old news, but from this yahoo fantasy note it appears that he's been dealing with the pain all season long afterall. Good reason why he's been sucking it up, and hopefully he'll provide some solid play off the bench when he comes back.
Sun, Nov 30 G Ricky Davis (left knee tendinitis) hates to miss games but finally had to acknowledge the pain that has crippled his game so far this year. Davis is unable to jump or cut with his usual explosiveness. There had to be some reason why his field-goal shooting percentage is under 30 percent.

He's healed slower than expected and is still unable to go. He may miss a couple more weeks.

Sad news from the Pacer game tonight (Inside the Clipps with Ramona):
From the Clippers:
Los Angeles Clippers guard Mike Taylor fractured his right thumb with 8:03 remaining in the second quarter of tonight's game in Indiana.
A time table for his return will be determined after further evaluation is done upon the team's return to Los Angeles.

Taylor out 4-6 weeks (more likely 6).
Davis out to Mid-January.
Kaman to return next week or just after the 1st.
Hart/Collins/Gordon will be handing pg duties until Taylor returns. Clips aren't looking to add anybody, and will likely wait for him to return or go after a 10-day when those are available.

It's possible that Randolph can be out for 2 weeks..
I don't know if this is a good thing or not. We suck more = Dunleavy getting fired sooner.
or
Injuries would be an excuse as to why we aren't playing well, and Dunleavy is still given a chance when the team is healthy..

Dunleavy is suspicious of agents with regards to players' timetables.
- Baron hopes to be back within next couple of weeks.
- Randolph will miss 3 game road trip and possibly miss 2 more weeks
- Kaman to have another MRI in 1 1/2 weeks. He is going to speak with a new specialist this week to determine if anything different can be done. He had been on the cycle and doing pool work but suffered a flare up earlier this week.
- Skinner has been playing with a leg bruise.
- Hart (elbow) had an MRI on Saturday that was negative.
- Sticky icky Ricky has been activated and has begun to serve his 5 game suspension.
The Clippers presented footage of the Voskuhl foul on Randolph to the league, but Stu Jackson "vaguely remembered" seeing the footage. He was at the game today and claims he will watch it again tonight.
