20 Questions with Fred Jones
Who would you say has had the biggest impact on your basketball career?

FJ: I would have to say that first and foremost, my parents have always had a big influence on me. They always managed to get me to the gym, and encouraged me to excel in something that I love. They definitely had a big impact on me growing up.

When I was drafted by the Pacers in 2002, I had the chance to play behind one of the greatest basketball players in history, Reggie Miller. I was able to learn a lot from Reggie, and his professionalism on and off the court really taught me how the game should be played.

What did it mean for you to be nominated for Pac 10 Player of the Year in 2002?

FJ: It felt really good to be rewarded for your my work, and for my efforts in the ways played the game to be recognized. That’s all I want to do: I want to play the game in the right way and influence others to do the same.

What did you think of the Clippers' new Training Center when you arrived in LA?

FJ: I thought it was really nice. It was a very big difference from when I came out to LA a few years ago and worked out with the Clippers. It’s really great to be in such a top of the line training facility.

Such a shame EB isn't playing. I would have tossed some tomatoes at my monitor while watching it stream online.

To be completely honest, I would be in Staples tonight if Brandy Boy had never injured his damn self. Instead I am content to sit back with Ralph and Mike and think hateful thoughts.

Its good to see that Z-Bo is "questionable" instead of "out" as well, it's baby steps, ya know? Hopefully we close out the year the right way....git em Clippers!

Yup, I was going to buy tickets right by the 6ers tunnel for $20, but he isn't active and the Clippers just suck.

I refuse to go to anymore games this year besides the Knicks one to see my boys Quentin Richardson and Wilson Chandler, and any of those games which they sell $150 tickets for $25.

Good start so far, a lotta buckets at the hoop (get in the paint!) and some good open jumpers to start off. 17-12 Clips, 6:03 left in the first.

I'm watching the text play-by-play on yahoo sports for a couple of quarters.
Clippers are nipping pretty close on Sixers' heels.
This half reminds me of what a joy it is to have Camby on this team --- in his 18 minutes in the first half, he achieved 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal. If only everyone could be as productive. This guy does it all.

Doesn't seem like anyone else has any interest in the game. :P I stopped watching after the first quarter..

^ I'm interested in this game! :D I'm surprised that this thread is so weak. This is a pretty good ball game. Thornton, Gordon and Camby are all doing very well. Baron's being productive.

I guess yall are gettin the night started early :D Happy New Year!

I'm sure it's a weak thread because our team isn't doing well and it's New Years Eve

Really? ;)

Well, we fell apart in the end, but the guys seemed to play a lot harder than they have in the last few games. Philly made some big shots and got some lucky breaks down the stretch. If the last day of the year is any reflection of the rest of it, we had absolutely no right to win this game. So good riddance 2008, screw you!

And a happy and prosperous 2009 to us all (especially the guys in red, white, and blue!)

I was at this game last night. Barren needs to go plain & simple.

You sure you didn't mean Dunleavy?

Hear's the thing. Why go after a PG like Baron Davis back in the summer when the way BD skills set clashes with the scheme just as Dunleavy's half court style?

His shot selection is so piss poor and he no longer has elevation like he did in past years. We're better off re-signing a crippled Cassell than continuing to allow Barren to run our team to the ground.
