20 Questions with Mike Taylor

Being ahead of schedule, what kind of basketball activities are you able to?

MT: It’s really important for me to keep my conditioning up. I’m in the pools doing a lot of water conditioning at the Training Center. I’m also on the treadmills running and I’m on the court doing as many drills as I can with my left hand. It’s actually been really helpful for me in becoming more versatile with my right and now left hand.

Does your team mentality change when you are limited to injury?

MT: Yeah, my mentality changes a bit. I’ve always been the guy who brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the game on the court. Now I’m in a situation where I have to bring that energy from the bench by encouraging and supporting my teammates. In terms of the way I see the game, my mentally has changed too. It’s actually been a bit of a plus for me to watch from the sidelines because I’ve really been able to step back and slow the game down in my mind. As a point guard, a key part of my game is being able to dissect the game and see the court, and the more I can slow down the game, the more effective I am in my position. Even though I would absolutely rather be playing than injured, being injured has actually helped me see the game better.

From what we’ve seen in the photos to what we’ve heard from DJ, you two hang out a lot, do you click the most with DJ?

MT: Yeah, I probably kick it with DJ the most on and off the court. We show up to the games together (like we did for Rookie Tuxedo Night) and we’ll go and grab a bite to eat after games and on off-days. But at the same time, I pretty much click with everybody. I just like to crack jokes, and before I know it, everyone’s pitching in and we’re all having a good time laughing. It’s always a really fun atmosphere when the whole team is together.

I think Howard will score and grab rebounds at will(even though Camby will play), but that's a given.

Though, maybe we can still get a W, with them missing Nelson, who's very important to what they've done so far.

BTW: Looking at our squad, i'm not sure who'd win if our starters and reserves would play against each other.

Being without Nelson will make quite a difference to the way their team operates on the floor --- and they haven't had time to compensate for that yet.
The situation can't hurt the Clippers, going into it.
I hope our guys put some heart and hustle into it, and play as well as they can, at any rate.

If memory serves me right, DJ got minutes the last time we played Orlando even though both Camby and Randolph were available. You know how Dunleavy likes "matchups," so I think we'll see DJ get minutes again. It ain't right that he sits after starting and playing hard for that string of games.

Has Orlando played a game without Nelson yet? If not, it works extremely to our advantage. Hate to see the PG of one of the most exciting teams in the NBA get taken out, but that's life in the league.

We're 4-1 without Nelson this year but I do not want to see AJ running our team the rest of the season, lol. Good luck. I think Jordan is gonna be great and Gordon is aready beasting.

Nelson out does make the game easier for us but I haven't been impressed with our play lately.

^ I hope that stream comes thru! Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it doesn't, it's about a 50-50 shot. I have an online class at the same time as the game, so I'm definitely gonna need me some entertainment (which is to say, I hope this game is at least entertaining!)

Hopefully I can find some good streams for all of us. I keep for getting about all these east coast games that are much earlier than I'm used to.

Baron with the start today. He should be having his way with Johnson, but well.. yeah.

Magic start off with a 3.

Dwight Howard just walked around ZBo to get the dunk...Zach didn't even move.

I don't like Al's "square up, don't move for 5 seconds and shoot" move. It's been effective so far, I just dont like watching it. Baron's doing a nice job dishing in the paint, and here goes EJ in for the layup +1. Clippers down 16-23.
