I did that one time when I was with Milwaukee because it was a lot harder to scout back then. You didn't have all the DirecTV and all the games on TV like you do now," Dunleavy said. "It turned out that there was one Christmas tournament that had eight of the top picks in it, in one place at one time and so I went to the tournament. It was a tough call, but everybody was like, 'No, no, you need to see these guys. If you can see them all at one place at one time and multiple games, it's too valuable.'"

Dunleavy said that the trip he made when he was with the Bucks caused him to miss only a "game or two."

He said the tournament is still important to watch for potential draftees, but it gets tricky because of the risk of overrating a hot streak by a player.

Hmm. Maybe Dunleavy knows that he won't be back with the team next year. :-?

I read in the latest issue of ESPN Mag that Sterling has reportedly "lost faith in Dunleavy's descision-making," and is looking at lakers assistant GM Ronnie Lester to replace him. Don't know if it's just as GM or as GM/coach, or just coach.

I wouldn't mind if he pulled a Riley and we had Hughes took over for a couple of games. Hopefully we'll be in a position where it's a no-brainer (i.e. Griffin or Rubio).

Lester would probably consider one of the Laker assistants if Dunleavy was relieved of his duties.

There aren't that many great players in the draft anyways. I wouldn't mind Hughes taking over for a couple of games but it's Dunleavy's call. As long as we get a top pick everything should be fine.

I'm all for anyone qualified enough to replace Dumb Sr as gm/coach.

Maybe he doesn't scout because Sterling told him that he'll be gone this summer?

BTW: If we'd keep Baron i'd be talking to Mark Iavaroni, because his style surely fits with Baron. Sure he hasen't had a lot of success in Memphis, but who would've with Heisley saving as much as possible and, therefore, not all that much veteran talent around.

This could lead to a lot of speculation, along with what you guys have posted. It could also mean that Dunleavy will look to use our pick in a trade to upgrade elsewhere.
