Those are pretty much my choices as well, minus when the team wins the series. Not sure if I'll be watching much of the playoffs though. I haven't had much interest in the NBA the past month or two. :/

I hope the Cavs win it all, and Singleton tears it up in the playoffs with the Mavs. :P

I think the Celtics and Bulls will be interesting. If KG doesn't play the Bulls might give them a hard time and if KG is still out for the second round I think that's when the Celtic's playoff run is over.

lakers over Utah in 4

Portland over Houston in 6

Denver over New Orleans in 7

Spurs over Mavs in 6

Cavs over Pistons in 4

Hawks over Heat in 7

Boston over Chicago in 7

Magic over Sixers in 5

Of course I had the results of the two Eastern Conference games today to work off of, and even though Chicago looks tough against Boston (especially without KG), I think the champs have enough to get past 'em. And the other series, Cleveland/Detroit, was a no-brainer anyway.

I went with Boston in 5 on the GB before it was announced that KG was out. I decided to stick with that although I was leaning more towards 6. Now it could be very well be 7. Rose had a historic introduction to the playoffs and played out his mind today. I don't expect him to play that well every game, nor Allen sucking that bad, but you never know.

I have to give it up to the Rockets for lighting up the Blazers in Portland. Brooks was on fire. Even Bones got in on the action.

It's already set in stone that the Lakers have the series in the bag vs. Utah.

Philly just shocked Orlando. I really want the Magic to win and they shouldn't have lost. The magic basically did what we normally do, they couldn't close out the game. So far the playoffs has been pretty entertaining.

I don't think Orlando understands the concept of giving the ball to your best player in crunch time. D12 had so many wide open/mismatch opportunities where players weren't even looking for him. It was unbelievable to watch. SVG must be livid, and I don't blame him.

I have a feeling Orlando won't let that happen again. SVG teams don't usually give up an 18-point lead twice.

A few blowouts today. I was impressed with Altanta with a strong performance at home. Smoove put on a personal dunk contest for the fans at the expense of the Heat. Wade had a lackluster game and if he's not up to par, the Heat have no chance. Nobody else really stepped up to help him as he struggled. With Orlando, I understand that Howard is a very poor foul shooter, but he is their best finisher as well as their best player. Who's going to really stop him? They have to go to him rather than just living and dying by their perimeter shooters.

You said a mouthful mk. The Magic had no excuse of losing the game on last night. Had it wasn't for the run the Sixers put on the Magic in the fourth quarter (35-19 run) alongside the Philly bench outscoring the Magic bench 45-13, the Magic could had this win. They have to do a better job in holding on to leads in games and to stop shooting themselves out of games when they know their perimter shots aren't falling for them.

That Bulls/Celtics game had an exciting finish. Rose didn't have the same type of performance as in Game 1 but Ben Gordon took over. Gordon was hitting everything for the Bulls at the end but Allen hit a 3 over Noah to win the game. Exciting finish

Seems like Powe is gone for the Celtics. He played big for them last post season. KG is pretty much out too. The Bulls have a pretty good shot of upsetting if they can keep it up.

Nothing seems to be going right for the Celtics in the health department. Right now they need to hope that Rondo's ankle doesn't cause him too much trouble.

Today was a sad day for the NBA and basketball fans across the world. After injuring his knee against the Blazers, Dikembe Mutombo stated that his career was over. Deke was always a favorite player of mine as he was to so many others. How could you not like him? He was a class act on and off the court and gave his all to anything that he committed himself to. He is a great humanitarian and his character is not only admirable for an athlete but a for people everywhere. It's sad to see him have to leave the game of basketball like this. It happened to Zo last season, and pretty much to Barkley as well. These players were either rising stars or in their prime when I first started to seriously watch basketball, so it just sucks to see.

Mt. Mutombo's finger wag that the NBA tried to ban was classic. :wavefinger: A lot of times you didn't know what the heck he was saying, but he was still hilarious. He provided one of the greatest basketball/playoff images that I will never forget. When he helped lead the 8th seeded Denver Nuggets to a series victory over the 1st seeded Seattle Super Sonics in the 94 playoffs. A feat that had not been done until then.

Here are a few highlight clips of his career:

I hate that Mutombo's career ended the way it did. He did have a steller career during his time with the Nuggets, Hawks, and Sixers. When he got to Houston, he knew his role was designated to the defensive end and he play that role to the best of his ability when he got on up in age. He will be missed in the game, but never forgotten. As for the Celtics injuries, why did this had to happen now. Now the title may go to LaBanon James and co. and personally, I rather have the Celts than the Cavs getting the title. Nothing I can do, but hope for the best.

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
