Don't Shoot Me ...

Don't shoot me, I am merely asking the question.
With the Grizzlies nearly 20 mill under the cap, would it make sense for the Clippers to DUMP undesirable deals like Baron Davis, Kaman, and Randolph to the Grizz to move down one spot and nab Rubio to play with Marc Gasol, Rudy Gay, and maybe even Mayo (if he's better than Gordon)?
Just a question.
The Clippers miss out on Grifin, but save A LOT of money while sporting a competitive "Hollywood" team in Rubio, Mayo, Gasol, Camby, and Gay.
The Grizzlies gain Griffin, but have to watch Randolph for two more years, Kaman and Baron for four more years, and pay them all a lot of money in the process.

I don't think either team would do that.

I hope not, because none of us would be saving a dime by dropping down in the draft. And that saved money isn't going towards LeBron or anything either.
In a less top-heavy draft (as in way way at the top) this might happen. But Blake is the absolute consensus #1 and will be a good crowd draw, so I doubt he Clippers would do this.

They (the Grizz) would let Mayo and Gay go if they got Gordon and Thornton in return ... along with Griffin and the "Undesirables" -- Baron, Randolph, and Kaman.
The Clips do it to save money, basically transferring their problem of overpaid injured players on to SOMEONE ELSE -- whoever will take on this burden to get Blake Griffin.
The Grizz do it to nab Blake Griffin at any cost.
If I'm the Clippers and I really liked Ribio alot -- personally I've never seen him play, but if I were REALLY enamored with him, I'd swap "situations" with the Grizz in a minute -- even if it meant missing out on Griffin. But again, I've never seen Rubio play.

What?! I'd love to have Griffin on our team, but he is an unproven rookie. Trading him for three future stars in Mayo, Gay, and Rubio is just absurd. Also, we take on Baron's terrible contract? NO WAY.

Yeah, wtf. First of all, dumping Randoloph AND Davis costs a lot. Then the Grizz has to give up Mayo, Gay and Gasol JUST to get the #1 pick? LOL. Griffin is easily the #1 and by a long shot, but com'n, that's just absurd.
