Favorite Clipper Rookies

Post#1 » by thanumba2clippersfan » Sun May 24, 2009 1:45 am

Ralph Lawler put the top 5 rookies we have had in our franchise and it got me thinking, out of the recent Clipper draft picks which one was your favorite?

If I have left a player off feel free to post the name. I'm only doing the 2000s basically and if you have anyone before that feel free to post their names as well.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

It was between Odom and Gordon for me. I went with EJ.

Odom has the most versatility for his team.
But with EJ, it's still early enough that I can hope he will fulfill all of his promise and become everything he can be as a player ---- something that the others, for one reason or another, don't make me feel.

I really liked Q during his Clipper years, as he'd been a really good rebounder and emerged more and more on the offensive end.

Gordon we all know how good he was and how much fun it's been watching him, during this crappy season.

Though, my vote goes to Lamar, as he was just a lot of fun to watch, due to being one of the most versatile forwards i've ever seen.

I went with Gordon as the pick. Second on my list was Brent Barry but that is going back to the 90's. He added a nice spark from the bench and hit many key shots as a rookie.

If Q would have stayed with the Clippers I really think eh could have turned into a star. His last season with us was his best and ever since he left LA hes been going down hill.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

That's how I also felt. He was my favorite Clipper when he was on the team.

D-Miles...that was my boy! He'll always be my favorite Clipper for sentimental reasons...whether I am embarrassed by them or not!

Looks like Gordon is winning this one so far.
The rookies that I have really liked on this list are Lamar Odom, Al Thornton, and Eric Gordon.

Gordon of course has the most potential out of all of them. For some reason I picked DMiles, just my sentimental pick.

He was just a lot of fun to watch when he was here, plus played really good defense. Everyone wanted him to become this quadruple threat like Magic Johnson or something, he just didn't have the ball skills to do that.

When he was a rookie he was rail thin and you weren't quite sure he even belong in the NBA, straight out of HS. I went to one of the first games his rookie season and watched him swat an early Shaq shot into the stands, that got a lot of oohs and aahs...
