Who Wants Livingston Back?

I was just thinking, Shaun Livingston is going to be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Dunleavy already likes Livingston a lot, and knowing Clipper Nation's love for Livingston, it seems realistic that Dunleavy could bid for Livingston's services this off-season in an effort to sell more tickets as well.
I would personally pay a good chunk of the MLE to sign Livingston seeing as better players who can be had for the MLE likely won't choose to play for the Clippers. Shaun had a good game against us in the season finale and I think I think we should be and will be aggressive bidders for him.

I think the bigger question is if Livingston would even consider us. The guy kinda left us in somewhat bad terms, and was unhappy that we didn't give him that qualifying offer even though he didn't play for a season and a half due to a major injury. Didn't we give him like.. 2 years guaranteed? Maybe it was 1 year.. I forget, but he did decline the offer.
I wouldn't mind him back at a decent price, but he still has to prove to everyone he can play a full season before he gets a big paycheck.

He'd be a cool 3rd string PG i wouldn't mind that.

Are you sure that he is a free-agent? I could have sworn that OKC signed him to a mult-year deal.

I also thought he had signed there for more than one year.
And I hate to sound unsentimental and cold --- I loved the guy totally when he played here, he's what brought me to this board, and I even kept a Livingston jersey hanging behind my desk at work --- but he has made it pretty clear that he doesn't have good feelings about playing for the Clippers, and let's face it: his physical frailty doesn't make him a good bet in the long run.
What with one thing and another, I just don't think it's a good idea, even if he were available, which I doubt.
We've already got enough players who are walking injuries and illnesses most of the year.

Kinda like the others said, I'd like to have him back as long as he'd like to be here and he's happy with whatever role he gets. I think the deal OKC signed him to was a 1-year with a 2nd year option at the minimum. I don't like to think that Shaun dislikes the Clippers org, although that might be the case. I'd like to think that he'd want to come back and settle some of the unfinished business he has here...but I guess we'll just sit back and watch what happens.

I never heard/read the specifics of the OKC other than it being multi-year (I'm assuming for the minimum). I do recall Miami giving him a 2 year deal that was partially guaranteed. Either way, I would welcome him back, but he has made it pretty clear that he wants to be elsewhere. I think for him, it's easy to not be that attached to the organization. The only member of the team that he has played with is Kaman (Thornton in practice if that counts), he probably wouldn't be too eager to be playing for the coach again, and then there's the front office and ownership. I personally think that Brand leaving, made his decision so much easier.

I do. Great 3rd string PG who wouldn't cost very much. And when Baron goes down with a boo-boo, he can possibly start.
Shaun still owns a home here, so its quite possible he would like to come back. I'd rather see him than Fred Jones. Nothing against FJ, but Shaun is still young and might make a good comeback someday.

I'd rather have Kidd as a back-up.

I'd welcome him back, but--

For some reason, even though I've bashed him for having no offensive game whatsoever, I want Q. Ross back. Our "defensive stopper," in the past.. well, it holds some truth now.

As long as he doesn't take Taylor's PT away...

I know what you mean. I've been thinking that we may need to look at bringing Q back as well. I would be more than willing overlook his lack of offensive capabilities if he would come back provide some perimeter D.

I don't mind having Q back either. But definately not as a starter. Other than his defensive abilities, the only thing I can remember about him was TJ Ford busting a jumper right in his eye to win that one game against the Raptors.
And about LIvingston, I just don't think it's going to happen. We need someone to contribute, and at this point, I'd rather have Mike Taylor than Livingston, because Livingston still hasn't shown much since the injury. Plus, I think he burned the bridge and feels that he can't come back.

You're right. According to storytellerscontracts.com he is signed through next year for just under $1 million.

That sucks. Q Ross is interesting as most people mentioned. I forgot where I read it, but Ross is one of something like the top 6 defenders statistically over the last three years. I'm not sure based on what stats or anything, but I've read that recently. I'm down for giving him a roster spot.

I would also love to have Q Ross back. I never wanted him to leave but sadly he did like a lot of our other players. I'm sure some contender might want to sign him because of his defensive abilities.

I don't want to sign any PG's because I want Mike Taylor on the floor.
Let's bring back QRoss and that pothead Miles. I'm sure Miles is a shell of his former self, but I have a soft spot for him.
