Warriors Expected to Heavily Pursue Baron Davis

Regardless, look for the Warriors to heavily pursue bringing back Baron Davis this summer, and don’t be surprised to see them do something unexpected on draft night.

I wouldn't trust these reports. Other reports indicate that the Clippers are desperately trying to trade him back to the Warriors and the Warriors haven't been interested. I think the Clips are stuck with him because of his contract. I actually don't think that is a bad thing if Baron gets in shape and stays healthy. He could still be a very good PG

Yeah, these rumors seems to be back and forth between the Warriors and Clippers, but usually it shows the Clippers being desperate. Guess not this time around? I don't know about trading him back to the Warriors. We need a PG. If GS trades their pick + let's say, Maggette or Crawford, it doesn't solve the PG problem. We'd probably draft Flynn/Teague/Jennings and TBH I'd rather stick with Baron.

Also, the source just seems to be speculation at this point, nothing about hearing from inside sources or anything. Upset Ellis = trade back Baron? Blah.

Crawford is capable of playing the point, but I think he likes to shoot too much to really play the point effectively

Recent wiretap shows Monta wants out if they choose a PG.. Which makes no sense cause the guy isn't even a true PG to begin with. I wouldn't mind a Monta for Baron trade(+fillers and what not). I think we'd lack a true play maker PG though.. But Baron wasn't much of one to begin with?

Maybe make a run for Hedo to run the offense? We can work out some sort of s&t since the Magic won't retain him. Maybe trade Kaman+Thornton for Hedo and some filler. Not really sure on the trades since they can't resign Hedo for 10M without luxury tax. So odds are that won't work.

Camby/Z-Bo(Griffin)/Hedo/Gordon/Ellis. Not bad. :3

I wouldn't mind a Crawford for Baron Deal, as long as we don't have to take back Maggette for Baron.
Something like Crawford, Belinelli for Baron would work on the trade checker.

Though, i've got a hard time believing any of those Clippers/Warriors rumors trying to send Baron back to the Bay, no matter if we're the ones being called desperate(and turned down) or if it says that they'll heaviyl pursue him.

As a Suns fan, I was thinking of a 3-way with NY.

BDavis/Camby to Phx
Nash to NY
Hughes/JasonRichardson to Clippers

Awesome, two guys that play the same position as Eric Gordon...

Hughes is PG and JRich can play both SG and SF. If Clipps weren't interested in ridding of Davis' deal, talent-wise they should not do this trade, which saves maybe 27 mil of Davis' last two years.

Unless the Clips get some really favorable offer for Baron, they just stand pat with him and hope he finds his passion and commitment for the game again next season like he said he would. If he did that, he's a top 5 PG in the NBA

I would take anything at this point. I would not want Monta Ellis, I am not sure about him after the injury. I would take Stephan Jackson but I doubt they trade him. In a fantasy world Baron Davis & Al Thornton for Stephan Jackson, Anthony Randolph & #7 Pick would be ideal. I am one of the few people that would take Corey Maggette back, Al Thornton needs to come off the bench. I don't think most NBA fans understand that scoring in the NBA is the easy part. Getting good stats in Rebounds, Assists, Blocks, Steals, etc. is the hard-part.

How about this deal?

Clippers Get: Maggette/Azubuike/#7 (Holiday)
Clippers Give: Baron/Thornton/future second

Warriors Get: Baron/R. Lopez/#14 (Clark)
Warriors Give: Maggette/Azubuike/#7

Suns Get: Thornton/future second from LAC
Suns Give: R. Lopez/#14

I don't think the Warriors had much interest in Baron Davis before the draft, but don't need him now after drafting Curry.

There's been quite some talk about them trading for Amare and such a deal would most likely include Curry.

If that happens, then Baron could be of interest for them again.

Not if you listen to GS fans. Even if they swapped Curry for Amare they will look into a different direction than having Baron return as PG.
