Stock Lemon says he'll be a dominant big man, but what you do think? He's got the size, but now reports say he might play SF, which is insane.

I can truly say it's hard to predict anyone's career. I can only hope that he will lift our franchise and become a hall of fame player.

You can't really predict how someone's career is going to play out, so I'm not even going to try to do that. He has a lot of areas that he needs to work on to become a more rounded player. The development that he makes in those areas (plus a bunch of other factors) will decide how his career numbers play out.

I think all the talk of 'PF or SF' is basically all semantics anyway. Basketball positions are extremely fluid, as opposed to say baseball or football.

He will be on the floor with 2 other big guys and 2 small guys. He will get the ball sometimes inside, sometimes outside. He will probably get the ball a lot mid-wing facing the basket, but it will change depending on who's covering him. He will probably shoot a decent number of 8 to 10-footers, maybe longer. So given all that, who really cares if he listed as a PF or SF? It isn't really going to change how he plays the game.

On defense, he will probably guard the opposing PF more often than not. I'm not worried about his shorter arms on defense, the MUCH more important thing is to develop good footwork and anticipation and of course work hard on both ends of the floor.

If he really works hard and dedicates himself to nuts and bolts of learning the game at the pro level (I anticipate he will), and he has the proper coaches, he should excel. I'm worried less about overall numbers and more about overall efficiency. He can also increase his impact on the floor in other ways that aren't necessarily on the stat sheet, that part will also be very important.

These are the things that differentiate a 20 PPG guy who is the leading scorer on a bad team, versus a starting player who has earned his minutes on a winning team. And if he can do those things, then his numbers will gradually rise over the years as he further refines his offensive game. So for now I honestly don't care about his numbers, I will be watching how he plays on the floor.

I agree with the last post completely. Sometimes you have smaller lineups and sometimes you have bigger lineups. The more Griffin knows how to do the better.

Some lofty career numbers posted in here, but definitely attainable.

He averaged a little more than 1 block in the NCAA due to his short arms, what's going for Blake is his strength and explosiveness, He will post Amare-lite numbers with less blocks 20p/9reb/2as/1st/.5blocks is the short end expectations for Blake.

I think if somehow he can develop a nice descent mid range Js, he will be a consistent all star in this league. I see him being a 14/7/1.5 guy during his rookie season, then a consistent 21/9/2 type of guy in the next 5-8 years.
