Kaman & Camby on the block?

Post#1 » by mkwest » Sun Jun 21, 2009 10:48 am

Clips were confident they had a Kaman deal 48 hrs ago. That changed last night. Camby to OKC is still out there right now.

Hmm... I wonder who they offered. Jeff Green? Collinson? Krstic? I don't think there's anyone else I'd want. Durant is obviously out of the question. :p

Edit - Oh I forgot about Westbrook. I doubt we'd get him either.

Bucher later stated that the Kaman deal was to the Cavs and the best he could tell was that it was for something along the lines of what they were offering for Shaq. I'm guessing it was straight up for Ben Wallace.

Camby to the Thunder doesn't make much sense to me. Camby for Watson and Sefelosha match up money wise I think and that could add two pieces to our depth. I'm not sure what else they could send us.

I say if the Clips can move any one of Randolph, Davis or Kaman for an expiring then they should definitely pull the trigger. I hope something goes down this week.

We better not trade Camby to the Thunder, there's no one on that team I'd want except Durant.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I can think of at least two guys, outside of Durant, on that team(Green and Westbrook) i'd happily trade Marcus Camby for.
Though, they also wouldn't be available for just him.

BTW: I expect quite some more of those rumors this summer, and especially from here on out till Thursday night.

Another tweet from Bucher:

@SteveBang036 Your Clips will move a big body. Worst case, Camby to OKC for nothing. Heard of two possibles for Kaman - Det, Minn.

That would be so weak if we got nothing for Camby.. Not only that, but the guy was one of the very few that played with any heart last season and you dump him to OKC? :noway:

I'm guessing that the Detroit deal is Prince straight up, or maybe something like Amir Johnson and the 15th. I would most likely do either of these depending on what else the team knows is out there.

There's also no way the team just dumps Camby to OKC. It makes no sense for us to just dump him since he expires.

We could however send Camby to OKC, and take someone like Vince Carter off of the Nets hand with the Nets only taking back a couple of million. This would save the Nets a ton of money.

We could also do this deal with the Wizards for the 5th pick and a couple of contracts. This also saves them millions of dollars in contracts and luxury tax.

If anyone has a Twitter account, ask Bucher who we'd get for Kaman from Detroit and Minnesota!

Mike Miller has been dealt with Foye to the Wizards for the 5th pick and junk. I don't think Minnesota has anything to offer now.

Amir Johnson was also just traded to the Bucks for Oberto. I'm guess if we're still talking it would have to be for Prince.

The frenzy of trades have begun and we're losing options left and right. Maybe this will force us to do something sooner rather than later.

I saw the Rondo rumor and to me it makes sense for both teams if Rondo does have attitude problems. I love the deal for Memphis.

I don't think so.
You should never panik and just do a trade for the sake of making a move.
There's still quite some time after the draft, to make something happen.

Still, i could easily see us making a trade and wouldn't mind, if there was a way to aquire another 1st rounder in such a move.

I'm a Piston fan (and former Clipper season ticket holder). I would think the Pistons are trying to move Rip. Prince is still young enough to be part of the rebuilding. If they could do Rip for Kaman, I think they would pull the trigger. Prince could also be a possibility. I think the Pistons are also taking a close look at Chandler, who is another center that Bucher thought would be traded tomorrow. All we know for suure is who the #1 pick is - ther rest of tomorrow should be exciting.

I've heard about Hamilton being on the block as well, but he doesn't makes any sense for the Clipps, with Eric Gordon already on the team.

And yeah, the only thing sure on draft night will be Blake Griffin being a Clipper.

Yeah, I'm with Det, we already have EG so why would we go grab Rip? Prince seems like the more likely option.

I've warmed up to the idea of trading Kaman for Prince, if we can add Prince along with Griffin we will have a scary team next season. As long as it can all come together.
