Travis Outlaw....

Post#1 » by tester551 » Fri Jul 3, 2009 8:25 pm

Would the Clippers have any interest in adding Travis Outlaw to your team?

He is the ideal 6th man and is able to play the 3 & 4 effectively. He is currently in the last year of his contract for $3.7 mill. If he signed a 2-3 year extension for approximatley $4/yr - would the Clippers trade a future 1st and part of the TPE you got from Randolph for Outlaw?

Def not with the pick in there. Outlaw isn't a bad player, but we could find better options out there.

Is there something Outlaw can do that Thornton can't? They're pretty similar players aren't they?

I'm against adding any significant salary this summer that runs past 2010, so this would be a no go as far as I'm concerned. Not like it matters, the Clips need a veteran at the wing along the lines of a Tayshaun Prince type.

All I've got to say is:

But on a serious note, he could be an option, but I'm not crazy about him. He brings a lot of energy and has great work ethic, but I think he's still a bit raw, and can go a bit overboard and try to do too much.

 At least we know he has some good hops. He can compete with Dwight for a throw in dunk.

I like Outlaw quite a bit, I would consider a trade like Kaman + Ricky Davis for Przybilla + Outlaw. Przybilla has one less year on his contract than Kaman and may work out well as either a stop gap until DJ is ready or he and DJ could share the C position in the future.

I don't know that the Blazers would be willing to take on Kaman and his contract, but they could use a center who can score since both Oden and Przybilla are defensive oriented.

Play somewhat better D, but I definitely agree with you.
