People are sleeping on Craig Smith

Post#1 » by bqmuzik » Mon Sep 28, 2009 4:46 pm

My 2nd team last year was the Wolves cuz i'm a Foye fan, so i was able to follow Craig Smith quite closely. This guy can really score the basketball. He had games where he exploded as the go to guy at times. With him and Griffin we are gonna see a lot of scoring underneath tha basket that we didnt really have last year. I think he should get some minutes at SF if R Davis tanks again......

speaking of which, imagine if R Davis actually brings his game this season??

Yup. I'm expecting Craig and Ricky to contribute nicely to the team this year. Ricky's on a contract season, plus he should hopefully be healthy this time around. I think we have some good depth all around after that Butler acquisition.

Agreed, Craig Smith can really score the ball efficiently. He is a bit like Randolph in that he doesn't really play above the rim. He can score a lot without you really noticing. I really enjoyed watching him play for the Wolves.

Oh and lets all show some love to Ricky. He seems like the kind of guy that needs it

I think Craig will be very good for us this year. I'm looking for 8 - 12 pts per game. When we go small, we'll probably see Griff and Craig play together. They're both capable of playing in the post, and both can make 12 - 14 ft jumpers. I think they'll play very well off each other, especially with Blake being a good passer.

I don't expect a single thing from Bricky. He's dead weight at this point. Rhino, however, will be a nice asset as usual. He's gonna have some big 20-point games for us. The guy can flatout ball.

I'd like the whole bench to play well. Ricky is capable of playing well and I expect him to be better this season. I'm also excited about Craig Smith, he had some big games against us last season and now he's on our side :)
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Craig was my favorite pick-up of the season Butler solid but we actually have a big off the bench that can bang like Milsap,Bass, etc.

I loved the addition of Smith in the offseason, and was really excited when we acquired him in the trade. It was an unexpected, but pleasant surprise. He is undersized but he is a legit pf. He gives us a nice back up to Blake and he is capable of putting up nice numbers when giving the playing time. So if he were needed to play extended minutes for whatever reason, he's reliable. Him coming home is just icing on the cake.

Having both him and Blake off the bench gives us two solid options @ the forward position.

I really like Smith myself, I monitored a lot of his games with the Wolves, and he produced well and has a huge body that can bang down low. I don't know about him getting any minutes at SF though, there isn't much time available there for one, and secondly he can't really guard SF's.

If Blake starts and Dunleavy doesn't keep that Kaman and Camby starting frontcourt, then he should get the bulk of the backup minutes at PF for the team.

I hope you don't believe Blake is going to start the season on the bench...

Read a report stating Blake didn't practice today because he is having knee problems.

I can see BG coming off the bench becuz coach probly wants to bring him in slowly. Im sure he will end up finishing the games and end up starting this season
