How important are Jordan and Thornton 2 the Clippers future?

Bulls fan here. Was just wondering how important Deandre Jordan and Al Thornton are to the Clippers future success. It seems like Jordan is only used when the Clippers are experiencing a lot of injuries, but everytime he did he put up great numbers. As soon as people started getting back from injury he was glued back to the bench. And a lot of the time it seems like Thornton is an afterthought in the offensive scheme even though it seems like he still has tons of untapped potential. Are these two players part of the Clippers future, because we'd love to have either one of them in Chicago if they're not.

Al Thorton , not that important IMO, its not that hard to find a scoring first swing man in this league, he is going to be traded within next 2-3 years.

DeAndre --- DeAndre+ Blake Griffin = the future of this Clips team.

So what would it take to steal Thornton. Kinda blew my high with the Jordan untouchable thing. Really wanted my Bulls to get him in the draft. High risk, high potential, but in the 2nd round its a win-win. Dont thin he'll be a Dwight Howard, but definitely see future all-star potential in him. If Griffin's as good as expected thats going to be a scary front court in the future.

The team is still marketing Thornton as one of our players of the future, but I personally think that it's going to be all about Gordon, Griffin and Jordan. Thornton has a year to show if his game is going to grow any. He can still be useful even if he doesn't show much more improvement, but that will just further support the belief that he should be used as a scorer off the bench.

Right now we're not going to trade Jordan, but it's more likely that Thornton would be traded. I don't believe that either will be traded as of right now.

Jordan will be a big piece especially next year when camby will be gone. Al not so much. We can either resign butler or (wishing) we sign LeBron. Haha

We did pick up al's 4th year option so he'll be here until the team has to pay up. My guess is he is traded by then unless he becomes a super sub that can bring D and energy off the bench.

We have cap room next year to upgrade our SF spot. I'm happy with butler but we'll need a stud so we can compete for a championship!

By the way I might be crazy but ill take pargo and a protected 1st rounder for Al right now. Then replace Al with either mccants or gerald green. Shoot maybe even stackhouse. I read he can still play. Hour can backup butler and hit open 3s.

AL is worth a lot more than that. I might bash him the most on here. But we need him for our 2nd unit. Remember Maggz that yr we went to the playoffs he was vital

I think the SF spot is the most important spot on the roster, so it's good to have depth there. The only thing is the SF needs to be a decent shooter, and a great defender. Al needs to improve on both, but especially his defense. For being long and athletic, he's a pretty bad defender... is it a lack of effort? a lack of basketball IQ? Only if we had Q Ross back...

I agree Al is worth more based on potential. However I think he has a long ways to go. The good thing is he seems like a good guy that won't pout and become a distraction.
This might be harsh but I think Al is a good player on a bad team. He's so much like Corey in a lot of ways. I hope he proves me wrong and becomes a solid player on a good team.

Would you guys do Al Thornton and Camby for Tayshaun Prince?

Not a Pistons fan either, just curious.

1. Clips struggling in the first half of the season , looking for something in return
2. Clips looking to compete for the 7th and 8th spot with Kaman Healthy, and DeAndre Jordan doing his stuff.
3. Another draft pick or role player involve in this trade.

So you're saying one of these three things would have to be going on to take this trade?

I don't think anyone on this board would be interested in that trade.

Luol Deng + 2010 first round pick for Marcus Camby + Al Thornton?

Edit: and if cap room for the 2010 FA is a problem, then

Luol Deng + Brad Miller + Tyrus Thomas+ 2010 first round pick for Marcus Camby + Chris Kaman + Al Thornton

Two lineups after trade

Davis/Telfair
Gordon/R.Davis
Deng/Butler
Griffin/Thomas/Smith
Jordan/Miller

Rose/Hinrich
Salmons/Pargo
Johnson/Thornton
Noah/Gibson
Kaman/Camby

I'd like to keep what we have, I don't have much interest in Thomas or Miller

If Camby is as good as gone next year, then I would consider this if Pistons throw in a 1st round pick or something. Obviously Prince > Thornton. But Camby still has good value.

We're going to give Deng this year to prove himself, but if his numbers dont get back to 18-20ppg 7rbg he might be expendable.
