Clippers(9-11) vs. Magics(16-4)

Post#1 » by clipperfan4life » Tue Dec 8, 2009 4:06 am

Orlando Magics (16-4) vs. Los Angeles Clippers (9-11)

When: 12/8/09 @ 7:30 p.m.
Where: Staples Center
What: This is the first time in awhile the Clippers are playing against one of the top teams in the NBA. That ain't a good thing due to their inconsistent play. We beat the Denver Nuggets who says we have no chance in beating the Magics?
Opponent's Brief Analysis: The Magics was the best Eastern team last year, their team consists of so many stars such as DHoward, VCarter, and RLewis and currently stand in first place in the Southeast Division. Now the problem is will the Clippers be able to defend them and keep them from a high scoring run?

Gonna be a super tough game.. Camby needs to make sure to guard the perimeter against Lewis. I think this is the hardest game this month. So if we can steal this one things may look pretty good.

This is a statement game. We need to win this game and show everyone what we can do.

I think we are more than capable of winning this game if we play hard. We're well rested and we won't have a game for like a week. Put everything on the line even if it means playing our starters 40+ minutes.

If the Clips play hard and come out fighting for 48mins then thaey have a chance. If the Magic come out blazin from the perimeter w/o the hard defense in their faces, they have this game.

BTW, it's Magic w/o the s at the end.

I honestly don't know how we can ever win this one.

Those matchups are a nightmare for us.
Camby doesn't defend the perimeter, but Lewis just makes a living there.
Kaman's got problems with physical guys he can't push around and he sure as hell won't push Howard anywhere.
And i don't see anyone being able to slow down Carter.

For us to win, we'll need to play a nearly perfect game with Kaman hitting his mid range jumpers, Camby pulling down about 10 offensive boards, Baron dominating the pg battle, EJ doing his thing and someone off the bench has got to come in and hit some shots.

Anyways, Go Clippers Go!

It all depends what group of guys come out to play. There's going to be little room for error if we're going to come out victorious. Strong perimeter defense  and rebounding, minimizing Orlando's 2nd chance opportunities, and limiting turnovers are just a few things that we'll need to do to in order to have a good chance of winning. It wouldn't hurt if we could get Dwight into early foul trouble.

You'll need a big game from Omega Red

Like West mentioned this team is dangerous because with two simply subs they can change the way the play you basically fighting two teams with two styles.

Last Year Magic: Williams, Carter, MP, Lewis, and Howard

Traditional Magic: Williams, Carter, Lewis, Bass/Anderson, and Howard

This we have a batter chance against the Bass/Anderson Magic as mentioned before we can't afford to have anyone pull Camby out the paint. Also with Thornton going at Lewis it will hopefully make Lewis tired on the other end and he won't have his same shot behind the arc. On our note I think this is the best night if any to give Brian Skinner some run I say give him some legit run and see what he does on D out there against Howard.

I find it interesting that we are playing the Magic on the same day from last year. Dwight Howard and I do share a birthday today. I don't want a repeat of how we lost the game last year and a great present of the satisfactory of victory. Don't let me down this year Clippers.

I think we have a great change to win tonight:

1. Jameer Nelson isn't playing.
2. Camby should guard Howard so Kaman doesn't have to work so hard on D.
3. Kaman will make Howard work on D.
4. Dwight is a terrible free throw shooter.
5. We've got DJ and even Skinner with 12 fouls between them. We can put Howard on the line all night.
6. They don't have their closer in Turkoglu anymore.

The biggest thing we have to worry about are the 3's from Orlando. If they get hot they can't be stopped. Which means we could end up losing by 20.

That's what Carter is for.

No way is Hedo that acrobatic.
Remember when Kobe elbowed Jameer in the chin so hard Jameer was knocked down and sent skidding across the floor?

Vince plays pretty damn well against us too, but I'm mostly worried about the 3 pointers. We gotta attack Dwight cause he's been in foul trouble a lot this year. If his minutes are limited, we just have to play good perimeter D and it may favour us a bit. They got a lot of 3pt threats.. Lewis, Carter, Reddick, Anderson, Pietrus, and even a streaky Williams.

It's finals week, but luckily I don't have a class tonight. I'm really looking forward to see how this team reacts against a top seed. Hopefully Kaman gets some damn vitamin D for this game too!

Considering there's no team in the NBA named the "Magics", I'd say you have zero chance of beating them.

Or the Magic.

Anything can happen, really.
And it will have to, for the Clippers to come out on top of this one.
But I hope they do.
