Kim Hughes will take over the coaching duties. Dunleavy remains GM.

All the tweets, texts, and articles are flooding in all at once, I can't control it all! How exciting! Reports I see have Hughes taking over as head coach, not Lucas.

I just heard the news on ESPN. I am so excited, this is what we've all been asking for for some time now. I just wish it would have happened during Al Thornton's rookie year.

I did think that the team responded better to Lucas than to Hughes this season.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I wonder who made the choice to fire him. Did Dunleavy the GM decide to fire Dunleavy the coach? Boy would I like to have been a fly on the wall during that conversation ;)

It feels like this is a new era for the Clips, so much great young talent. I hope it's the start of something good.

Congrats Clip Fans. You're almost rid of him. I always imagined that he had a big part in your super talented teams playing so poorly/inconsistantly. Hopefully the Clippers can improve now that someone else is calling the in game shots.

Wow I **** hate Kim Hughes. Let John Lucas coach.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Finally!!!!!
But I don't believe Kim Hughes is a better coach than Dunleavy. I'd prefer Lucas. Looks like he's gonna be around until his contract ends. He might be useful when we trade or sign players.

I still can't believe it!

It looks like Hughes will finish the season, but I really doubt that Sterling is ready to sign a top-class head coach and pay him $4-5mil a year. My hope is Lucas takes over soon.

Egad! I was just scrolling through my Facebook news page when I came across this news from the Fire Dunleavy group, and almost fell out of my chair.
I had almost given up hope that we might ever, ever get a coaching change.
I don't know anything about Hughes, and had assumed that Lucas would take the reins if Dunleavy left the coaching job open.
But it seems that we can hardly have it any worse than we've had it. So it can only get better.
And if Hughes is unable to improve things, then maybe at the end of the season Sterling will make a better coaching move.
For the moment, hallelujah.
