What to do with #5 overall

What does everyone want to see the Buc's do with the 5th pick this year? Personally, I'm hoping for Trent Richardson. Need another back to go with Blount and he has the most hype coming out since Adrian Peterson (who we had the chance to take, but chose RB wasn't a need. Until Caddy tore his ACL that year at least).

That being said, I honestly haven't seen much of Morris Claiborne, so I can't say whether or not he'd be a better pick. I realize that CB is a huge need this off season as well. With the signing of our new CB's coach yesterday it seems almost inevitable that Claiborne will be the pick.

Who does everyone else want/think it will be?

With the recent news of Richardson having knee surgery since the Championship game, I feel less comfortable taking Trent at 5. I say Claiborne or Blackmon or trade down.

Preferably I would hope that the Bucs could trade down to the 10-15 range and draft Kuechly and acquire more draft picks. But if that can't happen then Claiborn would should definitely be the pick.

But a physical lock down corner can help an entire defense become more effective as a unit.

Yes. He is easily the best LB in the draft. He had 191 tackles last season on a very poor BC defense. He did great at the combine too.

One who many thought couldn’t rise anymore was Boston College’s Luke Kuechly. Already projected as a mid-first rounder, Kuechly is creating quite the dilemma for many general mangers in the first 15 picks. While defensive linemen are always at a premium Kuechly combination of speed (4.5 in his 40 time) and strength (27 bench press reps) probably made several mock draft dry erase boards get wiped clean. And while measurable are always impressive, Kuechly was a basically a one man wrecking crew on a generally considered poor Boston College defense this past season, leading the nation with 191 tackles.

Player Comparison: Zach Thomas. There is no doubt that Kuechly will get drafted ahead of where Thomas went. The Miami Dolphins took Thomas in the fifth round of the 1996 NFL Draft. Kuechly should be a top-20 pick this April. The similarities can be seen in their nose for the ball, secure tackling, top-notch instincts and intelligent play.

Kuechly is taller than Thomas. Once Kuechly gets in a NFL strength and conditioning program, he should be a comparable weight to Thomas, who played in the 240s. Thomas was an eight-time Pro Bowler who recorded more than 1,700 tackles in 12 seasons. Kuechly looks like he could be capable of a similar career.

I prefer Claiborne if he is there at 5, if not trading back for Kuechly and extra picks is a good option. I think you would actually need to trade no farther down than pick 10-12 range.
