Yes, there was no surprise there. Lets hope the offensive line gives him the time to make plays.

He wasn't playing behind his entire projected starting O Line. He looked like a rookie at times, but also looked good at times. He accounted for a TD, which is counterpart # 2 pick Mariota did not do, and had one less turnover then Mariota. It's only pre-season game 1, can't read too much into it.

The third and fourth preseason game is going to look much better. By that time the players projected to be the starters will be playing together and getting their rhythm down. I believe Winston is going to do some great things but he is going to look like a rookie at times. He is going up against skilled men who are among the best at their positions unlike in college. He will adjust and become the quarterback we expect him to become.
