As you know, our DC Mike Smith was interviewed by 3 of the 6 teams looking for a new HC. He almost won the Jacksonville job, it came down to him and Doug Marrone. Marrone was hired. Smith also interviewed with the Chargers and 49ers. Wednesday evening Smith withdrew his name for consideration for the Chargers opening and last night he agreed to a new contract extension to stay in Tampa.

What this means is if Koetter does not improve next season, Smith will be the new head coach.

Ummm no. Koetter is not on the hot seat, not even close. He won 9 games in his first season, which has not been done by a Bucs HC since Jon Gruden. This team is definitely on the up and will make the playoffs next season. Not sure what you think he needs to improve on, but I hope that was a bad joke.

Yes, I was being facetious. It was more a shot at ownership than anything else. What this team need as much as talent on the field is consistency in the coaching staff. Pittsburgh is a good examples of sticking with their coaches and having long term success.
