Season finale today

Post#1 » by craig01 » Sun Jan 3, 2010 5:40 pm

Finally this dreadful season ends today.

Does finishing with a victory today lead to guarded optimism for next year, or just more of the same given there are no changes in coaching and/or administration?

I'll say that NONE of it matters if the Glazers will not invest in the product (players) on the field.

Sounds like that is a real possibility.

Cowher could be headed to the Bears.

I'd think that's a more likely destination for him.

Link ?

I have seen that he has shown interest in the Bucs job. I doubt he gets a job of a cold weather team.

Falcons win 20-10, Bucs finish 3-13

Pros and Cons on this season;

Pros -

Freeman has the tools to be a good QB
Stroughter proves he was a steal in 7th rd
Kellen broke record for most receptions in a season by a Bucs TE
re-signing Spurlock(should have never been cut)
A Bryant, Caddy, Wilkerson and Ruud want to stay with Bucs

Cons -

Promoting Raheem to head coach
Firing OC and DC
Winning 2 of last 3 games, officially taking the Bucs out of race for Suh
Cutting Matt Bryant, going through 3 kickers during the season
Moving J Phillips to LB, went on IR early in the season

The sad part in the NFL is that it doesn't take much to elevate a one to a decent record, but money has to be spent.

If I were the Bucs, I'd use that draft pick to pick Eric Berry at UT, and solidify the defensive backfield.

Bucs fans should be cheering for Chiefs to win, so we would have a better shot at 3rd overall pick.

Chiefs currently up 3 over Broncos at start of 4th qtr.

I agree, if Chiefs win, the Bucs would pretty much lock up the 3rd overall pick.

If Rams or Lions take Suh, the Bucs should take Berry. Bucs have two 2nd rd picks, and could draft a DT with one of those picks. Having a secondary with Talib, T Jackson and Berry would be nasty. Bucs could get a CB in FA, maybe go after Dunta Robinson. Ronde said he will most likely retire if Morris does not return.

Chiefs beat the Broncos, Bucs should have the 3rd overall pick.
