Do or die time for the Cowboys....

Post#1 » by JES12 » Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:28 am

Thoughout all the tiebreakers and mathematical odds, etc, etc...it comes down to week 17 because of a lot of games going our way on Sunday.

In Philadelphia at noon central time....TO and the Boys gets to see who is better once & for all.

You win....you're in
You lose...you're out

That simple...black & white.

Dallas sits at #6 right now and we are playing the a team 1/2 game behind us. If Dallas wins, we are in (Eagles, Bears, Bucs out). If Philly wins, they end up ahead of Dallas and awaiting a Tampa Bay AND a Chicago loss.

So that's the skinny.

The playoffs for Dallas starts December 28th because every game from here on out is literally, DO OR DIE!

After that poor performance on Sat, I just wonder if this team can muster the urgency to win a tough road game in Dec. We will wait and see.

Looks like they are out of this one. For this much talent to be on this team, they struggled since the middle of the season with multiples of distractions and not enough leadership and focus. They have a lot to think about when the clock hits 00:00 at the end of this game.

Personally, I wonder why he jump the gun in the first place about retaining the both of them. He acted like the Boys had the Philly game in the bag. They need changes now.

1. Expect the coaching staff to be replaced
2. Instill leadership discipline, and focus to the team.
3. Find a decent backup QB so when Romo goes down with any injury, the backup QB would be decent enough to complete passes.
4. Do away with TO and perhaps Roy Williams if he doesn't improve in the Dallas play schemes during the offseason.
5. Work on limiting penalties for God's sake.
6. Improve at LB, and T and go from there.

I agree with all those points except for #4. I would love to see TO and Roy on the same team under another offensive coordinator. The current offense is very simple and easy for opposing defenses to cover, meanwhile Garrett can only make use of Crayton and Witten.

btw I wanted to add that I'm starting to believe that Romo isn't all that he has been hyped up to be. I know he hasn't been 100% health this season but this guy just doesn't show up for big games. He also tries to do too much instead of playing smart. The other thing that bothered me was how he seemed so nonchalant during the post game like it was another day in the office. Now there are reports that he fell down in the locker room because of his back... yeah sure Tony.

Romo reportedly passed out in the Cowboys locker room on Sunday after the loss. Reports say it had something to do with the previous rib injury he suffered. I think the stress of the loss got to him.

On Romo, I think he's a good QB. Not great like your Tom Bradys and Peyton Mannings great. He's been durable and most efficient QB the Cowboys had since the days of Troy Aikman. What he needs to work on is patience and making sure he and the receivers are on the same page when they hit the field.

Uh oh, looks like Wade Phillips vows for change in Dallas. So Phillips, where were these vows of change while the season was still in play. :reporter: Hmmm........ I guess I won't get a comment from Coach Phillips. http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ ... in_dallas/

On TO, I really wonder how long will he hold on until things start to unravel in Big D. And what will happen to Adam Jones chances in Dallas? Keep or Release?

Just too many distractions did in the Cowboys season like drugs did in Kurt Cobain.

die was the verdict. Time to lop off wade's head too. I dont buy this continuity crap given that this team does not learn nor work well with the coaches. Also, werent they better with a new coach the first season 3 of the last 4 coaches, and the one outlier was Campo, who had the same record every year?
