Roy Williams will have to compete to keep his starting job i

ESPN has a video that loads up automatically if you click the link, so fair warning if your volume is up on your computer. The article is below the video.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams, who is guaranteed $12.9 million in bonuses and base salary this year, will have to compete to keep his starting job.

"We are going to play the best player, no matter what," Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said when asked whether Patrick Crayton or Kevin Ogletree could beat out Williams. Link

Go Ogletree. I am aUT guy, but I can overlook that for performance. And Crayton is a better 3 than 2.

I just don't see where Williams fits on an NFL roster. He doesn't get separation and his hands aren't all that good. If Dez is worth his salt, Roy may be your #4 receiver.

#1 Austin
#2 Bryant
#3 Crayton (as catalyst said, he is a slot guy)
#4 Williams

Personally, based on play last year, I'm not sure that Williams is better than Ogletree.

I still can't believe we gave up so much to get this guy. Hopefully the drafting of Dez lights a fire under his butt cuz I think he can be a lot better if he just sets his mind to and and puts in the work. It'll be interesting to see how the whole situation pans out.

I agree we gave up so much for him and got what a couple TD's in return. guys making a ton of money doing nothing for us besides drop passes and making stupid excuses like " it was the glare from the visor " bs roy step it up and show the world what Roy Williams is able to produce if not thats why we drafted Dez and have a young gun in Kevin Ogletree who impressed with the few games he got to play in last year

We could potentially have the best receiving core in the league. What a great problem to have.

Yeah. Offense should not be a problem as long as Romo is healthy and the O-line gives him a few seconds to throw. It would be nice if one of these receivers emerges as a big time deep threat though. Dallas could use some cheap touchdowns. Getting safeties back on their heels is just going to help the running game too. Austin got a lot of long TD's last year, but many of them were on broken tackles.
