what to do with P. hughes?

Post#1 » by ccvle » Sat Jun 9, 2007 6:50 pm

What should the yanks do if all five current starters are pitching well? If we cant upgrade the bullpen, how about let hughes pitch out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season? Even the great Johan Santana started his career as a reliever.

When Hughes comes back, he has a spot on this team as a starter. Clippard will probably get put in the bullpen.

let's just hope Hughes doesn't suffer another setback while rehabbing.

It depends on how his rehab goes. If he gets healthy early (July) he will finish out the season in pinstripes in place of Clippard. If he isn't healthy until mid-August, I can see him throwing a few rehab games in the minors and calling it a season unless we are in dire need for him.

One thing that he will NOT do, however, is throw out of the bullpen. If he pitches in the majors the rest of this season it will be as a starter...and if he can't start here (which I really see no reason why unless he isn't healthy) then he will start in the minors.

All I care abut is he takes his time to rehab correctly. When he is healthy and there is still time then he will take clipps spot.
