Its not a flaw. Im very proud of my city. It is where I was born, grew up and were I lived for 30 years. How does one turn their back on where they're from and pretend to be from another city??? Makes ZERO sense to me. When you were in high school did you root for your rival team to win? Why does one have no pride in where they were born, grew up and lived? You have ABSOLUTELY zero ties, understanding, life lessons, or taxes paid to that city so why would you root for another cities team? All your friends, neighbors, family all are proud of your town and its teams yet you root for a team that has absolutely nothing to do with you because they win championships. Dont you appreciate home pride, commraderie with EVERY person in your city?? Hey, we all have faults... just own yours. And please please dont pretend its for any other reason then you wanting to feel like a winner. Arent you proud of where you were born? I mean rappers kill each other just because of where they live. People LOVE their heritage like being Italian, Irish or whatever and get tattoos because of it. War after war after war has been fought because people loved their home. But you throw all that down the toilet so you can pretend like you're a winner too? I dont get my self worth from football teams. Im proud of where I was born and the fact that my teams may not win doesnt sway that pride.

In the note rest of fairness, that's not what he Meant. The teacher just forgot to put a ? After "cause of the Internet". I brought up the many reasons why the home team rule is eroding over time and mentioned the Internet and the sport center type shows as big reasons. He half read my comment as me saying most Cowboy fans are Cowboy fans because of the Internet, but that's not what I said.

realgm just sent me a message asking if they could use my name and face as an icon for people teams they root for because, yet again, I won the pick em league. Half of you guys are gonna have my name and face as an icon cause I win the title all the time. Cowboys/Lakers/Malko fans are gonna be everywhere!

Perfect example of why I called you a drama queen. Look at all the assumptions you make and the wild conclusions you draw because someone likes a sports team? It's borderline delusional. Wars being fought because people loved their home??? but people are flushing that down the toilet by liking another team? Come on. You had to be giggling when you wrote that. Otherwise there is some bizarre scenario being created in your mind. What is interesting to me is you stated how you root against the US Men's Olympic team and don't see how that is way more severe of a step away from Patriotism and bonding and camaraderie and whatever else you bring up....

I didnt say 1/2 the Cowboy fans are because of the internet. The majority of Cowboy fans are from Texas and thats cool with me. Im talking about the people who have ZERO pride in their home town. THe guys who turned their backs on their friends, communities and fellow tax payers so they can feel like a winner. What I said is ALL COWBOY FANS FROM OUTSIDE OF TEXAS AND THE GENERAL AREA HANDED IN THEIR MAN CARD TO FEEL LIKE A WINNER. It doesnt matter to them that your friends despise you for it. It doesnt matter that everyone you know roots for the home team. All that just to pretend that you're from Dallas is LAME! Thats what I said.

What I said...No kid that just starts watching football and picks a team even considers 5 SBs. The Packers were the winningest team in history, but when they went through their tough times no little kids becoming new Packer fans. It is about the present. People became Cowboy fans in the 70s and 90s. The Cowboys from two years ago had as many all time SB wins as the Cowboys from the 90s. So why weren't there any kids becoming Cowboy fans 2 years ago? Because its not related to history, it's the present and the only recent Cowboy fans were probably attracted to Dez, Romo or Ware, not Aikman.
Second point. Saying that being a fan of a team that isn't closest to you geographically is absolutely not an indicator of not being a real man or being insecure. Your comment indicating this is absolutely idiotic or just meant as a passive aggressive insult and yes, that is what you always do and that is being a drama queen. So is your little attempts like saying we will beat Detroit by 10 points or the Eagles the first game before we played, and then after the game you acted as if the Eagles were much better. You set up a scenario so Dallas and can't win. If we win its because we we're expected to. Then after saying we can't likely lose you'll be on here a week later if we do lose stating how much of a homer someone is for thinking we were the better team after the loss.
I like you as a poster, but you are the king of passive aggressive attacks and yes, you are a Drama queen. You are always the one in the middle of all the drama. Don't take that as an insult because there are much worse things to be, but it's true. Your whole identity of being an Eagle fan on a Cowboy board is drama.
I absolutely DID NOT say that. I said I have no idea who is going to win because they are very similar (good O's, bad D's). I said Philly has the slightly better D because of Kendricks, Barwin and Cox. Then when the game was played and Philly won I said absolutely NOTHING except, "It doesnt matter Philly won because they are a flawed team and arent going to do anything". That is a 100% COMPLETE mistruth. After watching Dallas for the last month and seeing Romo play excellent football I formed an opinion. What really made me believe this is when Philly scored 24 straight to take the lead I watched Romo promptly march Dallas down the field and regain the lead and said, "Wow, Romo is handling his business this year". Then I watched Dallas take that momentum and smash the Colts and then smash the Skins and said to myself, "Man, they have an excellent OLine, an MVP candidate at RB, a QB who isnt making mistakes and a WR who went from excellent to probably the best WR in the NFL and said, "Sorry Redskins fan, but this Cowboy team is gonna smash the Lions". THen you take issue with that. Jeez bro.

it is cool the whole proud of your city & where you grew up thing. But if you were a lil kid when you chose your teams, were you honestly really thinking your favorite team is because of all the ties you have, & all of the understanding & life lessons you had. & certainly as a lil kid was because of all the taxes you paid. I think not. Sounds like you were told who your favorite teams were gonna be. As a lil kid I wasn't thinking superbowls. I was think silver & blue & the star & thought cowboys were cool. Wanting to feel like a winner never crossed my mind. BTW I didn't live in SF or Oakland nor did I live in either of their counties. Cali is a big place. So FU & your stretching to include taxes. if I wanted to pretend to be a winner I could have picked the Niners you douche bag. You were never gonna win the fact I am a true Cowboys fan since I have been one since I was little & never changed so you go after I have no pride & hate my heritage. You know nothing about me junior & your whole post shows how simple minded you are.

That's some weak reasoning. I'm not from New England or Dallas. I've explained my Fandom many times. It has nothing to do with wanting to be a winner. It 100% in my wanting to follow dad and all his loves.
Now before you accuse me of never going to the games font start. I've been to game in Dallas, Arizona, and San Diego to support the Cowboys. Pops also took my brother and I to a yearly game in Anaheim to watch the Sox play. You need to get off we became fans to feel like winners BS. Most were around 5 years old at the time. Did a few 20 year olds jump on the 90's bandwagon? Sure they did but odds are they leaped off just as fast.
Incidentally I kind of support the Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. Why because politically I fit right into Texas.
By your way of thinking, you now pay taxes in Arizona I think it's high time you start donning red instead of green.

your so used to arguing with people that have changed favorite football teams. As a child I didn't know they had man cards.
Who is acting like they are from Dallas that isn't? Where do you get this from?

You absolutely did not say that we would beat the Eagles before the first game? 100% complete mistruth? You didn't know who was going to win the first Dallas/Philly game? You started a thread with this:
"Early line says Dallas minus 3 with an over/under of 55. Teams are similar in many ways. Both can run and pass effectively. Both have poor D's with bad secondaries.
Im going 27-24 Dallas. I see both teams as very similar except Dallas has the advantage at QB. Another thing that could lead to a much bigger Dallas win is the fact the Eagles CONSISTENTLY turn the ball over. Sanchez has 4 picks in his last 8 quarters. Only way Philly wins is if they dont turn the ball over which hasnt happened all season.
Lastly, the over under for Dez flashing "The ROC" symbol is 4.5. If it goes over that means he had a big game and seems to be Jay Z's biggest billboard. I get the "diamond" symbol he makes with his hand but can someone fill me in with the "X" symbol he makes with his arms. Reminds me of Charlie Garner from back in the early 90s."

Oh Jarntt, my bad. I though you said I said that Philly was going to beat Dallas. My bad, I was read you wrong. I thought you said I was bragging about how Philly was better then Dallas and that Philly would win.
OK, I think I had an epiphany while digging my wifes hair out of the jammed up tube in my vacuum. It dawned on me that I should be happy for you guys if it makes you happy to root for Dallas. My issues was never with Cowboy fans that live in Texas. But Philly is a HUGE sports town. The Phillies parade a few years ago had over 2 million people celebrating downtown. I fly for free and went and it was great. I remember the Flyers going to the Stanley Cup and the tradition in Philly is for everyone to honk their car horns all night. Every where you go its all Eagles/Flyers/Phillies/76ers. Its an amazing AMAZING time when the community comes together. Everyone is happy and its all you hear and see. All the buses in town take down the digital route name and have the display read, "Go EAGLES" or whatever team is in the playoffs. There are tons and tons of people running around the streets screaming and partying. You go to work and thats all anyone is talking about. Its electric and fun. If it makes you happy to celebrate ALONE... more power to you. When you go to work and say, "Did you see the Cowboys" and all your coworkers say, "Who cares, we hate Dallas". Aint no one honking their horn, aint no busses changing their route names to "Go FLyers", aint no one in the street. But the great part is if Dallas wins the SB you can come on here and chat with BJJ. Thats too lonely for me. The entire city shuts down in Philly. I remember in 80 when we won the World Series our mayor cancelled school for the parade. THe electric vibe that you share with millions sure beats loggin on here and chatting with BJJ. Thats why Ill always root for my home team. Its a religous experience that you can share with millions and its right in your face. Ill take that over loggin on here and agreeing with BJJ about how awesome Dallas is.
My Dad always says, "Im a Bears fan 1st, Eagles 2nd and Skins 3rd. He grew up in CHicago.
BJJ its not suck up mode. Its crazy. If I say something I feel is true like "Dallas doesnt have a very good D" you get your panties in a bind. When I say something else I feel is true like, "Dallas is hot and their excellent O can take them deep" I get ripped for that. Ive been on here waaaay before most of you. I think all of you. Jarntt and PDay are old timers too. I used to get PMs and see posts from COwboy fans that always said I was annoying but Im not a complete homer and that I do know football. Its not sucking up. Its calling them as I see them.

I try to root for the Cards but it just doesnt feel right. They are my number 2 team and I really think they will be a top 5 team next year. I do have to say I hate the new stadium. Doesnt feel like football to me, but thats besides the point. And I have to say that even worse then the Cowboys I hate Texas politics even more!

Interesting points. But, Me, I picked my sports teams when I was a small kid who didn't know anything about parades or bus signs and stuck with them ever since. Sounds like you picked your team so that you could feel like you belonged with or were part of a group. Correct? My psych minor tells me that is a sure sign of insecurity. Kind of ironic....
A real man doesn't follow the crowd blindly or always take the easy road; a real man isn't afraid to walk alone if need be...Go Cowboys and I love NY!!!

Well, as a 44 year old- the Titans werent here when I was growing up, thankfully I might add. Basically they have killed the football season for many in this area because their games take up the television on Sundays. Im very fortunate for DirectTv and the Sunday Ticket. Before the Titans, the Cowboys were on here very week for as long as I can remember. My dad was a Jets fan so I definitely didnt follow him and his sorry team, although I did pull for them after i moved out. He would have been an upset guy today- he loved Rex. Im pretty liberal so it is definitely not politics that swayed my fandom. My aunt did move to the Dallas area when I was 7. They did beat the Broncos in the Superbowl around that time. I remember the game well, but that was the last Superbowl they won until the the 90s. I guess one could call me a front runner or whatever, but if that was the case it seems like I would have switched to the 49ers.

I knew there was something I liked about you!
Also, I cant hang the front runner tag on you if you're a Cubs fan. But Cowboys/Lakers... and then trying to tell us it wasnt because they were good. I know... at 5 you loved the colors purple/gold and thats why you became a Laker fan. YAWN!
