Cowboys agreed to terms with ILB Jasper Brinkley, formerly of the Vikings, on a two-year contract.
A seventh-year pro, Brinkley is a run-stopping specialist. He made 74 tackles on 471 snaps for Mike Zimmer's defense last season. The move helps rebuild the Cowboys' linebacker depth following the departure of Bruce Carter.

Re: Jasper Brinkly - LB
OK, decent player. But I wonder if he can play the strong side? He isn't going to be able to play the weak side at all and if we resign McClain he'd be our 4th best MLB

Hate to sound like a broken record, but we need all the help at DL and LB we can get.

Brinkley will like be the primary backup MLB regardless if McClain is brought back. I would also expect him to play a lot of Special Teams.
