Re: Weekly Game Threads !
The year Peyton Manning won a ring with Denver he was literally the lowest rated QB in the NFL. He was flat out bad.
Nick Foles isn't a good QB. Joe Flacco isn't either. Eli was average at best.
Time and time again we see QBs win rings who aren't seen as "elite" and somehow we still have fans who think everything is about the QB.

Mr. B and I have been discussing this topic in here for 3 years now. Once again, here we are. In December, big game when things start to have all kinds of implications, Dak starts to play like Tony Homo. Thanks to Dak, the final score was a lot closer than the game actually was and should have been. I'm kinda getting tired of the excuses when you see a guy like Colt McCoy come in for 3 weeks and win two of them without Hopkins. We have an injury or two and have Cooper out for a couple weeks and we fall apart on offense. We then get Cooper back with Lamb, Gallup,Smith and Collins and now Dak struggles with all his weapons because Elliott is not 100% and Pollard is out. It is starting to appear to me that Dak is not capable of putting everything on his shoulders and making everyone around him better when times get tough. unless the defense plays lights out in the playoffs we will lose because of Dak Prescott.
I think we'll know for sure once the playoffs come along.
If Dak is really just like Tony Romo then Stephen A. Smith is right, the Cowboys won't win a playoff game this season.
I think the Cowboys can make the NFC championship game this season.
There is a hell of a lot more to who wins a football game than the QB.
Romo wasn't even that bad in the playoffs...over 6 games they went 2-4 where he threw 8 TDs and only 2 INTs. It has also been shown he was one of the more clutch QBs in the NFL. The whole choker stigma started with the Seattle muffed snap and every time Dallas lost after that simpletons just pointed at the QB.
Just the fact you mentioned Romo wasn't that bad means he was. Which playoff game were you referring to that Romo was clutch?

That is a complete breakdown of Romo in every situation. He had excellent numbers in clutch situations. He had excellent numbers period.
Part of it is fans putting way too much emphasis on rings when evaluating QBs. Peyton has had massive chokes throughout his career. He lost a Super Bowl on an INT. Russell Wilson has also thrown away a Super Bowl on an INT. That's as big as a "choke" can get. But fans forgive these massive chokes because these players already have rings.
Romo was a great QB and people who are realistic about this sport understand that. It's narrow minded fans who don't. Romo was definitely more skilled than Aikman was, in fact Aikman himself had said that numerous times.

We are not here and I did not ask about Wilson or Peyton. First of all Romo is not even in the same class as Wilson or Peyton. They got to numerous super bowls and even won. Romo never got by the division round. You still never answered my question. I've seen every Cowboy game since 1970. In most cases watched the same game more than once. So when in your mind did Tony Homo ever win a big game and was clutch in it? Still waiting to hear this one.

Sure his 2 playoff wins and his numerous comeback wins. I mean do you literally believe he never had a big moment?
I'll give you that he isn't in the same class as Peyton but maybe not Wilson. Their TEAMS won rings. Give Romo that Seattle defense. Give Romo the 90s Cowboys roster. etc.
And Romo was absolutely better than Peyton in Denver.
You are exactly what I'm talking about, when grading or judging QB talent you only look at WINS AND LOSSES. But that is completely unfair because TEAMS do that, not QBs. Ask Dan Marino.

That was with Miles Austin and Roy Williams as his weapons. "Decent" weapons I suppose but hardly elite.

So which Super Bowl, which NfC Championship game, which playoff game or which game with the division title on the line did Homo have such a great game? When was Homo ever clutch in any of those games? Still waiting. Comebacks vs. scrub teams don't qualify as clutch to me.

Re: Weekly Game Threads !
The COWBOYS TEAM, 53 players + coaching staff, never made it that far. So completely unfair and completely illogical way to rate players.
Imagine if NFL scouts rated college talent that way. "well he never won a big game so he must be bad at football and also gay".

Your the one that posted and stated that Tony Homo was clutch. I just want to know which game that was, or games, so I can understand your man crush on him.

So all those great legends we had back in the late 60's through the 70's were rated unfairly and illogical? 12 NFC/NFL championship games in 17 years with 5 Super Bowls. They almost always made it. Your point is..................... ?

Re: Weekly Game Threads !
I posted a game complete with highlights. You should watch it.
Debating with you is no different than debating with an Eagle's fan. All of our players suck. We'll never win anything. The Cowboys are the worst

There is nothing to debate. You can't even back up your own posts,

Of course you don't have a hard time debating with Eagle fans, you're on the same page as them
Romo the Homo sucks and was a massive choker, Dak is the same and we will never win anything with him, and the Cowboys will never win anything. I mean what are Eagle fans going to disagree with there?
Anyway have fun being stuck in 70s!

Re: Weekly Game Threads !
Tony "the Homo" Romo was a choker and IMHO did suck, even though I still watched every Cowboy game and rooted for him. Our generation of fans saw it coming but we had no choice at the time after Jerry set back the Cowboys 6-7 years with bad draft picks and the Roy Williams trade where we gave up 3 FIRST ROUND DRAFT CHOICES FOR. Parcells had to take a shot with someone at the time because every other options was pathetic. We could all tell from the very beginning that his style and gun slinging mentality was only going to get us so far and we were right. We already have the stats, facts and history to always throw back in your face. There really is no debate here.

Re: Weekly Game Threads !
Washington had a massive covid outbreak they have 21 players on covid IR
Browns are as well
Would really suck if something like that hit Dallas right at playoff time. At least we know Zeke and Amari and few others have already been through it.

Hopefully Dak can get back on track vs. the Giants today. Looks like weather might be a small issue.

DTs Trysten Hill and Osa Odighizuwa both out with covid
DT is going to be a weak spot for us. They should run up the middle all game.

Not sure what the Cowboys tackles were thinking on that play. Both edge rushers got to Dak completely untouched.
