Running to the left out of the backfield and Cliff Avril hit him from behind. Landed on his clavicle.

Romo has been having a hard time the past few years picking up the blind side blitzes pre snap. he should be much better than that with his experience. After all these no pick ups on his part has cost him injury and games.

Thing was on that one it looked like he sensed Avril and was going down. That's the bad part. Even with that he still got hurt.

I'm with you. He ain't playing 16 his season.

Jack Lambert was right. I just saw the replay. Despite all the protections QB's get today, they should put skirts on most of these guys. My grandmother can take a better hit than Romo. Roadhog, you might be right. If Romo can't handle a hit like that he won't make all 16 games.

Romo not playing 16 games might be one of the best things that ends up happening to the Cowboys.

Whatever. If he bought nothing then it's just a good "coaching" tool.

Yea but he's got to be smarter than that. Just stay away from it. Or if you are going to do it be smarter.

I'll bet that if Jerry knew of some quality Blue Label ganja in one of those places he'd find a way to get his hands on it.

That goes back to a point I made when we talked about this months ago. All I will say on this matter is, if I was making the money he is making, I could find at least 100 other healthy hobbies or interests, than hanging out at a pot shop. Of course he was accuses of also doing molly in college when he was roomies with Bosa. Next I fully expect Elliot to start hanging out in strip clubs next.

You might be right but let's hope not. That's why I'm glad they have Morris for 2 years. And I agree with you that if I was making that amount of money or had that type of earning potential I would also be on the straight and narrow but not everyone is like that. Some people are wired for the exact opposite.

So does Dak play in the last preseason game? He needs the snaps but is it worth the risk in a meaningless game with hardly any of the other starters playing?

Also do they look to sign a vet backup or do they just roll with Showers?

I'd give a series or two but that's it. No more. That's a whole lot more than Romo would have got if he were healthy.

As far as the backup... I think you look at the waivers and see what's out there. But at this point, I'm not interested in trading a pick. So if all that's there are the usual suspects then I think I just roll with the two kids.

I think either McCown or Austin Davis will be available. One of them will get cut when they make their final cuts. If they want to go young Bryce Petty might be available, or Aaron Murry. Then there's the bottom of the heap guys like Geno Smith, or Christian Ponder. At very least one of those guys will be available.

I'll pass on those bottom of the heap fellows. Geno Smith isn't the type of locker room presence we want. Are the Jets ready to give up on Petty? I don't think so. I'd take a run at McCown for the right price. Good locker room dude who knows his role and would provide stability.

Aaron Murray is intriguing.

Remember the Jets drafted Hackenburg too. The most likely scenario though is they keep Petty and Hackenburg and let Smith walk.
