The kid from Kentucky, Levi. You convinced me he wasn't worth taking based on the information you aquired.

Yeah, Levis is the most overrated prospect in this draft.

I actually like Hooker. But I wouldn't take him before Round 2.

I can already see the headlines in the local Dallas media: "Jerry lands Hooker!"

“Jerry pays Hooker” is a better tag line.

Cowboys need to get 2 real good starters with their first 2 picks and three others that can make decent contributions.

As of the way things stand right now, this is one of the three moves I would do with our first round pick:
#1. Stand pat and take LB Drew Sanders to play with LVE and add depth. He's the only LB worth taking in the first round. When LVE was out for 3 weeks last season, we lost 2 of the 3 games he was out and our defense got totally gashed in the running game.
#2. Draft a run stuffing, pressuring DT that will help control the line of scrimmage. Mazi Smith comes to mind unless something falls to us.
#3. Use one of our comp picks and move up a few spots and snag Paris Johnson. After Dak I feel the O-line is the next weakest link.

I feel like our round 1 pick is almost gaurenteed to be a TE

LB Drew Sanders or DT Mazi Smith is what I'm hoping.

I’d be happy with either Dalton Kincaid or Darnell Washington. Kincaid could be Kelce in this offense. Washington will be a dominant blocking TE in the NFL, and he has nice hands.

Absolutely unless something falls in our lap that we don't know about yet.

Good thing this year's draft is deep at TE with the departure of Dalton Schultz. Schultz really screwed himself over taking a 1 year, 9 mill contract with the Texans. Cowboys offered Schultz late last fall a 3 year, 33 mill contract and he turned it down. Now he gets to play on a crappy team where he will most likely get about 1 500-600 yard season with about 3-5 T.D.'s. He'll be lucky to get 3-5 million a year after that. What a dumb azz.

If we got Mazi Smith I would probably pass out. He's the guy I really want if we stay at pick #26 !!!!!!!!

Mo Claiborne and Taco were obviously horrible picks but all of the other picks could play and we’re good-great picks.

Sanders is the only LB worth taking early if we were looking or going in that direction. I don't mind taking a LB in this spot but I am totally sold on Mazi smith at the moment.

For the sake of arguing let’s say Mazi Smith, and Bijan are off the board. Steve Avila is a Guard I’d love to see them take. Needs a little work with his run blocking but is an excellent pass blocker and is strong as an ox. With Tyler Smith staying as the starting LT they need a replacement for McGovern. We all know Steele will be the long term RT so when you factor that in the Cowboys OL would be really good and really young (outside of Zack Martin).

Another guy that could be a possibility that we haven’t talked about much is TE Michael Meyer from Notre Dame. I’ll be on record as saying that I would prefer Dalton Kincaid however Michael Meyer would be great in Dallas. He’s more of a traditional TE with hands. A little like Jason Witten. Good size, good route runner, good hands, good (not great) blocker. He’s the all time receptions leader at TE for Notre Dame.

Here is a guy that I think the Cowboys would consider in the 3rd round. WR Marvin Mims Jr out of Oklahoma. MM loves drafting WR’s and over the course of his career he’s drafted some really good WR’s. In Dallas the jury is still out on Jalen Tolbert but I think they will draft another WR at some point in this draft. MM prefers his WR’s to be in the 5’11”-6’1” range. Pretty much all of the WR’s he drafted are in that range. Mims is 5’11”. His skill set looks like it could be similar to Cooks.

The Cowboys could also go CB. I like Emmanuel Stewart out of Mississippi St. He’s 6’0” and ran a 4.3 at the Combine. He’s a long fast guy. Since 2020 he has 14 int’s, with 6 pick 6’s. Keep in mind he did this in the SEC. He’s a ball hawk. With the Cowboys pass rush he would be given the chance to pick off a lot of passes. So he did it on a big stage against elite competition. CB is probably the team strength right now but you can never have too many good CB’s.
