I’m wondering if they’ll take the Guard from Notre Dame now and solidify their OL or will they go with a QB.

I think it depends on what the Browns do. If they don't take Barkley, then I could see him being in NY and a problem for us for years to come.

Could that winning culture be Dallas or more like New England.

Almost screams New England... our culture screams "Process".

Crabtree could be a fit in Dallas, solid route runner, pretty good hands. Don't know what he would command on the market or if DAL would play him alongside Dez. Upgrade of Terrance tho.

Kinda what I was thinking. Clear upgrade over the current #2. I understand he’s looking at the Ravens though.

If he goes to the Ravens there is a VERY good chance Ridley falls to 19.

I wonder how they would get this done, meaning the extension. Is there a way they could package Scandrick in a deal to free up a little more space.

I’m still not giving up more than a 4th for Earl Thomas. He’s a 1 year rental. He wants to be the highest paid safety in the NFL. Stephen is not paying a 30 yr old safety who’s already showed signed of breaking down that kind of money.

My Cowboys Mock Offseason:
Free Agency:
RB Lance Dunbar- He's familiar with the offense and can probably be had on a minimum deal. Good 3rd down back if healthy.
LB Derrick Johnson- Veteran would probably take a small deal considering his age. Could be a good rotational player.
S Kenny Vaccaro- Our one big signing. The Cowboys had interest in him last year. He shouldn't break the bank like signing Honey Badger and won't cost draft picks like Earl Thomas.

Draft:
1- OG Will Hernandez- He already works out with several Cowboys. A mauler in the ground game and had a good combine.
2- WR Christian Kirk- Gives us speed and playmaking at WR. Kind of reminds of Golden Tate.
3- LB Ogbonnio Okorwonko - Speed rushing LB from Oklahoma replaces Kyle Wilber and helps gets us more pass rush.
4- DT Derrick Nnadi- Tough run stuffer from FSU. Gives us a true nose tackle.
4- TE Troy Fumagalli- Wisconsin kid has proven to be a reliable weapon in the pass game.
5- OT Brett Toth- Had a good East-West Shrine game. Could be a nice swing tackle for us.
5- LB Shaun Dion Hamilton- Adds more LB depth and plenty of experience.
6- FB Dimitri Flowers- We lost our only FB to the Raiders. Flowers helps and can play ST.
6- WR Cedric Wilson- Could be a camp body that surprises. We usually have success with Boise State players.

Wilber and Keith Smith signed with Oakland, Scandrick released, Crabtree signs with the Ravens. Meanwhile, Martin hasn't resigned and no other news.

I'm sensing Stephen is getting his way lately. I'm not as nervous as I was when free agency started. Jerry has always had a knack for picking up free agents over the years that have not worked out, lost draft picks and were given ridicules contract that set us back or prevented us fro other signings. Looks like with some of these releases, etc., we are free up money to sign our draft picks which is what I wanted all along for years. Lets finish the defense this year. And yes, I still want to get rid of Dez and Williams. I know some in here will disagree, but I would rather take a shot with Brice Butler over Williams or Dez. jmo.

To me Brice Butler had his chance and did nothing with it. He had two years to prove his worth while Dez was in and out of the lineup. He dropped a lot of passes during that time.

That’s not saying that I think Dez is still the guy, he’s clearly not. It’s why I’m on board with them taking a WR within the first two rounds. Calvin Ridley (trade up) or DJ Moore (trade down) in the 1st or Christian Kirk in the 2nd.

As for Stephen, he clearly does not believe in going after higher tier or middle tier free agents. The down side of that it appears as if they are doing nothing. The upside is they haven’t signed an bad free agents either (to a big long term contract).

Boys bringing in some OL for visits. I'm intrigued in the Patriots olineman. On the other hand, the interest in Thompson concerns me for the chances of Ridley.

Scandrick signs with the skids, 2y-10mil. I'm going to enjoy watching him go burned, that is if he's not injured by then.

From today's Dallas Morning News...

Cameron Fleming (6-6, 320) and LaAdrian Waddle (6-6, 315) were in town Monday night to meet with Cowboys coaches and are expected to stay until Tuesday. They split time at right tackle last season for New England, with Fleming starting in the Super Bowl last month. Both are native Texans (Fleming is from Fort Hood and Waddle is from Columbus and played in college at Texas Tech).

Dallas Morning News

I get the sense they would like to move La'el Collins back to LG and this appears to be the way to do it.

And - the "next level" FA WR's - names like Dontrelle Inman and Justin Hunter who rang no bell whatsoever with me so I did my homework. Hunter (with TEN last year) is a speed guy. Adios Brice Butler... go be a starter somewhere (I doubt). Inman is a solid blocker who runs precise routes that the QB can count on. Comes with the endorsement of Phillip Rivers.

Nothing flashy... but we don't need flashy. We need improvement. And anything that shoves Chaz Green's sorry ass off of the roster is an improvement as far as I'm concerned.
