There have been some rumors that the Cowboys are looking at QB Jalen Hurts as a possible middle round pick. I’d love to see Hurts brought in to compete with Cooper Rush as the backup QB. Under McCarthy I would expect to see the Cowboys draft a QB every couple of years.

So what would you like us doing with our first pick? I'm going either DB or OL.

For me I want anyone of these three guys. DT Javon Kinlaw, CB CJ Henderson, or EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson.

My preference would be for Kinlaw. He potentially could give the Cowboys what Fletcher Cox gives to the Eagles. I would be extremely happy with any one of those 3 though. Adding a young elite edge rusher would only help. Chaisson is a beast off the edge. And CJ Henderson is a big CB. From what I understand he had some issues in 2019 however was great in 2018. He’s also not a great tackler. He is being projected though to be a very good pro, he should have a long career. But Kinlaw, then Chaisson, then Henderson for me.

Disclaimer: there is a chance all 3 are gone by pick 17.

All 3 are defensive players, Going all defense, You sound like me the past 4 years,

Zeke will be done by then, Copper will only have one year left on his and Jerry will find a way to screw things up in between.

Dak wants a 4 year deal so that he can negotiate a new deal after the new TV money has kicks in. I read that the league is expecting a 50-60% increase in 2022 and the same increase again in 2023. Dak wants to be able to get paid again when that money kicks in.

I don't understand the problems with the Cowboys end. Sign the 4 year deal and get it over.

The problem is that the Jones’ want to lock Dak up for 6-7 years. Dak doesn’t want that though. The money hasn’t really been the issue, it’s the amount of years on the deal that’s been the problem.

They need serious help on defense. There is still a chance they go offense though. There is a good chance one of the top 3 WR will still be on the board at 17. We don’t need a WR that high but if they drafted WR Jeudy out of Alabama their offense would be extremely scary! Cooper, Gallup, and Jeudy can all play in the slot or outside. They would be able to move all of them around and really confuse defenses.

I think Jerry has put Dak on notice after getting rid of Garrett finally and drafting Lamb last night. I thought there was no chance in hell he would fall to us.

No one thought Lamb would be there.

I don’t see this as a message to Dak. They still want to sign him and he’s still going to try to get the exact terms he wants. I honestly think that if we were not in this lockdown mode that Dak would have already resigned.

It’s going to be really interesting though if the Jones get sick of all this. If they draft a QB there is still a good chance that they could sign a guy like Andy Dalton (if/when he’s cut) or Cam Newton. If that happens, then they are definitely sending a message to Dak. Any vet QB would love to come in and play with the weapons Dallas has.

I really don't believe they will draft one. Time to find some defensive jems.

Stephen has been talking this week about taking a QB. He said even if they take one early it would have not barring on how they feel about Dak. Speculation is they have their eye on Jalen Hurts. I think if he’s there in the 3rd they’ll take him.

I think Stephen is blowing smoke on this one. I'm hearing they like the LB from Wisconsin.

Yea Zack Baun would be great. Either him or CB Trevon Diggs from Alabama.

Diggs is definitely a position of need. I'll take it.

Don't know much about him. Hope your right. Been starving for a DT for 5 years. Hopefully we continue to draft defense unless a stud Ol falls to us. Preferably a center.

Well they got their center. With their next 5th round pick (179) I would not be surprised if they draft WR James Proche. They have been heavily scouting him.

If DE Curtis Weaver is still there or CB Bryce Hall are still there, I would love either of those guys. I actually would love the WR from SMU too.

I had a feeling they would take one. Green Bay took a QB every couple of years under McCarthy, I would expect the Cowboys to do the same.

I can't remember the last time I was happy with our draft. Outside of the fact we didn't get an LB, I'm quite happy.
