The team simply transfers his base salary (in most cases) into a bonus for the player. He more then likely gets to walk away with that money now, versus having to wait until the season (weekly game checks). The player gets more guaranteed money upfront & the team is able to save money on the cap. It's a Win-win.

I was mostly referring to the fact that he helped create some much needed cap space. I should have been more clarifying. I forgot how much you hated me.

Of course he would! More guareenteed $$$. Who would turn that down!? :P

I apologize for being so stupid.

Some much added depth for the O-line. I like it.

They have 7 WR’s right now, and that’s not including Lance Lenoir who I know the really like. If they draft a WR like Calvin Ridley I’d say they’d have to cut or trade 3 guys.

I think Beasley is perfect trade bait. It seems like New England is a perfect fit. Drafting a WR would also have to spell the end for Dez in Dallas (would also be a great fit in New England). Then Noah Brown and Switzer would battle for the last spot.

If we now have 7 wr's with the signing of Hurns, I find it hard to believe we go Wr in the draft. I also have absolutely no objection at all in getting rid of Williams either. Smells like a defensive draft to me.

Very well could be but don’t rule out WR. They have 7 WR but none are considered elite. They still could draft a guy like Calvin Ridley and groom him to be Dez’s replacement as the #1 next season when Dez can actually be cut.

I've come to the conclusion, that we have seen the absolute best from Dez despite how I have felt about him the past 4 years. He's not getting better, still can't create separation, still can't run routes and is still being over paid even at 12.5 million. I have no objection if the Cowboys take that route either.

I'm Behind, out of the loop, taking a break lately. Trying to forget all about last season. Last year was one of 3 seasons since 1970, I just want to forget. I'll start catching up and will be back in the loop by the draft. As I have been catching up, I see cactus Kellerman has done a great job keeping everyone posted. Who needs ESPN, etc., On top of it ole boy. Impressive !!!

I needed to take a break after the Egals won their first Super Bowl in my life time. Felt like life was over.

What I really about this signing is Collins moving back to LG where he belongs.

Probably gonna be a little tougher to trade T-Will now... although I didn’t think that was the end game anyway.

God I hope not. The Cowboys would have to give at very least a 1st and 2nd and then would have to pay him over $100 mil. No thanks. The Giants can keep that coke head diva.

I may get my earlier wish, by default in this 1 case. Replace both Williams and Dez.

Lol. Take it easy. More of a joke than anything else. No way the Giants trade him to the Cowboys.

I know. Don't worry about me. I tend to find most things associated with trades to and from the Cowboys to be a joke.

I blame Jerry.

Did anyone else happen to read the article about Garrett talking about Dak.

To me is understandable. Jason Garrett's job is on the line this year. Anything short of the playoffs and at least one playoff win, and he's out the door, trust me.

I don’t think he said anything that isn’t the honest truth...

Dak knows he has to be better
