One thing for sure... this has been a nice offseason so far. Nice enough that they can go take the BPA on their board at the end of next month with zero regret or concern. OL, DL, RB, TE, secondary... doesn't matter.

I'm feeling a lot of concern for the TE position TBH.

But if a stud falls to us at another position sure we should snag him.

He seems to have a good handle on Tyron Smith's availability... and he seems to be certain Steele will be on the team next season.

I actually think they are referring to Steele as the swing tackle instead of the starting RT has more to do with their negotiations than anything else. The Cowboys are known form playing hardball with some of their players during negotiations. They will leak negative things to the media and in this case will attempt to pay Steele as a backup OL instead of as the starting RT.

If the Cowboys drafted Mazi Smith the middle of the defense would be nasty! Nobody is running up the middle with Smith, Odighizuwa, Hankins, and Gallimore in the middle of the defense. Especially not with LVE roaming the middle behind them. An elite DT is the only thing the defense is missing to be the #1 defense in the NFL. This is why I also wanted Bobby Wagner. They would have been loaded with run stoppers.

Jonathan Hankins signing isn't making me do backflips really and I was hoping for something more exciting than that. Probably makes Mazi Smith less likely.

Hankins is not a sexy pic to some but I love it especially only costing 1.5 mill for some very nice depth and step in DT if we need it. Adding Mazi Smith with another LB (just in case LVE gets hurt) for depth purposes puts us on a defensive level we haven't seen in a very long time. Hang in there Mr. B, we are almost there on the defensive side of things anyways !!

They have us rated a bit too high imho. We are weak at the most important positions in the NFL. Head Coach and QB.

That’s not the opinion though of the people that put this list together. Most people still see him as an elite QB, and honestly he is. He’s a stat machine. He just doesn’t play well in January when it counts most.

Even if we hit in the draft and put a nasty championship contending team together, we all know how this will end in the playoffs next year when you have McCarthy as head coach and you know who at QB.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
