Re: 2023 Cowboys Offseason News & Notes
The word "choke" is excessively abused and overused past it's real meaning. Now people just use it no different than "loss".
In order to choke you have to be in a clear position to win or a heavy favorite. And then "choke" that lead away.
Chargers vs Jaguars is an actual choke. The Chargers were up by 20 and then lost. Dallas losing to SF was not a choke job. It was just a loss. Dallas was never the favorite to win that game. Not before or during.
The biggest real choke jobs I have seen by a QB are the Peyton Manning INT to Porter in the Super Bowl. And Russel Wilson's INT to the Patriots. Although that choke job could maybe be pinned on Pete Carroll more so than Wilson.
Biggest choke by a team is the Falcons Super Bowl loss which was on fairy tale levels of unreal.

Wish I could tell you that you can change his mind with a fact-based post like this one.

Thank you I appreciate that, I already know I'm talking to a brick wall but I still have to get my points in there. Can't help myself.

Get back to me when you stop smoking out of a crack pipe. Your versions and visions don't align with mine. I think the female hormones you have inside you is causing you to become a drama queen always looking for a fight or argument. You love constant dysfunction, don't you? I guess it gets lonely living in your grandmother's basement and having to wear a paper hat for your current daytime job. Its frustrating, but someday you might get it, but I doubt it.

I mean kinda. Dallas was winning that game from the start and could have won even without the Larry Brown ints.

Not important but Diggs, Lamb, Dak, and Pollard all went out and covered themselves in tattoos.
Diggs and Lamb got their entire backs covered. Pollard and Dak both got a leg covered.
Maybe that united them or something... hopefully lol

$51M per season is pretty steep. They better hope he never gets injured like Dak did. If he loses the ability to use his legs as a weapon he will be a completely different QB.

It signals that their window to contend is closing quickly. This says to me that they can likely make one more run at it this upcoming season. Before the window closes shut.
They reached the Superbowl because they weren't paying a QB.
You give Hurts less to work with & the results won't be so successful.

Good lord, $179m GUARANTEED that is nuts.
That makes Dak's $95m guaranteed look cheap.

Only 179 million is guaranteed. So the actually real money is 31 million per year. Incentive based.

Dak actually got $126m total guaranteed.

That's the guaranteed money. But the average annual value is $51m with more incentives.

If he stays healthy and finishes out his contract, yes you are correct. He could make up to that much. But right now the real money that goes on the books is 31 million till incentives are met. I always go with the real money.

@Cactus - fair enough on the $126m that is true. This contract and the Daniel Jones' contract still makes me feel better about it though. I don't understand how Jones was able to get what he got.
I bet we will see Mahomes hold out at some point. Chiefs may be safe for a couple more years but QB salaries increase so drastically that it won't be long until he is underpaid.

Re: 2023 Cowboys Offseason News & Notes
Hurts is too reliant on his feet to be good for long term IMO. He had 760 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs. They also are planned around after one good season. We see this time and time again with Kyler and others.
To be good long term in the NFL you have to be a good pocket passer.

Well... I feel like the bar for Dak's 2nd extension was just established.

I take it you never watched Super Bowl V. Don't. It will effect you the rest of your life with a sickness you can't recover from.
