So - let's stop kidding ourselves about this team. Let's build with an eye to three years down the road. That will be right about the window where Seattle will be on the downswing and Carolina will have lost a ton of quality players to Free Agency and Aaron Rodgers will not be the best QB in the league and the Redskins will have been proven to be frauds and the Iggles will still suck...

And - we will be ready to assume the mantle of best team in the league. Of course - Brady and Belichick will still be ruling the AFC.

<removes tongue from cheek>...

But - I am serious about building towards 3 years from now. Why not!

Agreed, take your QB and allow him to grow with this young OL. Then over the next 2-3 years you rebuild the defense and by the end of 3 years your team is young and ready to take over the league.

So lets start with the defense then. What the hell, why not. I don't like any of the QB's in this year's draft and I definitely don't see the GUY.

And I think I have made up my mind unless something happens in the next few weeks to change my mind. Unless we trade down and gain some extra draft choices, I'm all over Myles jack. I want him in Dallas next year beside Sean Lee.

Your not afraid to say Boas is a bust and Jack is too injury prone, but all I have been hearing is how Goff is looking like a bust. Now Cleveland is seriously considering taking Wentz because they feel the same way and are willing to take him over Goff. I guess your the only one I've seen that thinks Goff is the guy. I sure don't, and I can see why they would want to take a chance on Wentz.

There are really only two reasons people are knocking Goff. One he can fix and the other he can't. The first is his weight. He really need to add about 10-15 pounds. With a year or two of sitting on the bench he'll have more than enough time to work on his body. The other just really came up today and that's his hand size. His hands measured in at about 9 inches. That could be the cause of all his fumbles at Cal.

If you strictly by his game tapes he clearly has what it takes to be successful at the NFL level. He reads defenses better than any QB in this draft and he has the best pocket presence. He's also the best when it comes to looking off defenders. He's really good and moving the safeties and LB's with his eyes. I honestly think Goff is the best of the top 3 QB's but all three really do have a chance to be very successful.

For what it's worth Goff's hands are about half inch bigger than Romo's. Also Wentz and Lynch have the largest hands. Both I heard came in at 10.5 inches. According to Garrett they really prefer QB's with large hands. So I wouldn't be surprised if they trade back and draft Lynch if Wentz is gone at 4.

Today its was reported that Kapernick wants out of S.F. Insiders are saying they want Goff. I'd love to move back 3 spots to gain an extra pick or two.

I thought the Niners had the 5th pick? I have a feeling they will try to pull off a trade with the Chargers. That's why I was saying that both Wentz and Goff could be gone by 4.

I saw Goff play 3 games last year. He sure stunk it up in the Stanford game. Cost them the game in my opinion.

Keep in mind that Cal had a horrible OL last year too. That won't be the case in Dallas.

Actually I prefer Wentz but I do think Goff is going to be a very good QB.

Just very good. Thought you said he was the "guy" worth taking at #4? Personally, I wouldn't give either one of them a mop job.

Wentz and Goff are clearly worthy of a top 4 pick. Lynch is not as ready to play as those two guys so they could get him by moving back a couple spots and picking up a couple extra picks.

If we don't move back, I hope Jack or Buckner is the pick.

I see Andrew Billings was extremely impressive this past weekend. He's actually the player I want most. I believe I mentioned Billings quite a while ago. I'm sure you guys wouldn't want to take him at #4. He's projected to go somewhere between 17 and 26. I would love to draft him, if we don't take Jack, but that's me. My guess is you guys think that's too high for us to pick him. A lot of the experts I trust themost are all giving this guy A+++ marks everywhere. We are so hurting for DT's and Lb's, I can't see doing other wise. 4 years of neglect have gotten us to this point today. So I guess I am pretty much where I was 2 months ago. Either Jack, Buckner or Billings are my first round choices. Sorry Mr. B.

I'm all on board with getting a DT I just think it should be with the 34th pick not the 4th. With Billings projected to go between 17-26 there is actually a chance he makes it to 34. Even if he doesn't there will be a stud DT still on the board. There are too many good ones in this draft.

This is why we can't get over the mediocre hump. When we have the chance, we don't take the best players at their positions in the draft.

I was thinking about this yesterday. If QB is no longer an option and they are determined to repair the defense I don't think they should go with Ramsey, Bosa, or Jack. I would prefer for them to trade back a couple spots (with San Fran) and draft DeForest Buckner. Then if Billings continues to fall and is there in the 2nd draft him too. Either Buckner or Crawford could move out to DE. Having those two stud DT in the middle of that line immediately makes the entire defense better.

Then go get your RB in the 3rd (Alex Collins). And sign a good bet backup QB. The future of the QB position is still a joke but at least for the next 2 years this team would be light years better on offense and defense.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
