Unfortunately.

I brought that up multiple times in here. How much success THIS season is worth keeping McCarthy? It's a hard thing to conclude.

I am definitely happy that we got a playoff win under our belt. Because that has shifted talks from "They can't even win a playoff game" into just stating we haven't made it "deep" in the playoffs in 26 years or whatever. It's good that the team got that win to build off of. It is also nice that the Cowboys were the team that sent Brady on his way and that we FINALLY beat him. Was that worth keeping McCarthy around though? If Sean Payton could have been had here probably not. But if Payton was never a option maybe it was worth it.

I think (and - the article this morning in the DMN kinda confirmed what I've been thinking the last few days) that we'll get a better sense of what McCarthy actually has in terms of "power" as Moore's status is decided. I don't see them releasing him during this HC interview process as that would devalue him in the eyes of potential job openings but once things shake out, a decision has to occur. If he stays - that tells us Jerry wants him to stay and finish out his contract (one more year). And - McCarthy has little to no say in that which would lend itself to me believing MM has at the very best one more year here. Not really fair for either guy but we all know Jerry will do what Jerry wants to do and fair has little to do with that.

I think that the fact that the team keeps progressing a bit further under him makes it difficult to let him go. We went 12-5 with a playoff win, it is not typical to fire a coach after that.

I think the team needs to take a step backward, not forward, for it to be an easier decision. Like next season it needs to be 2 playoff wins.

It looks like we have fired 5 assistant coaches so far though and reports are that McCarthy was part of the decision making there.

You’re talking about a guy that fired an NFL Legend (before telling him) and then fired a guy that had just won back to back SB’s for him.

Well I kind of hope you are right. If he does fire McCarthy I think I'll be okay with it. Outside of the Tampa Bay game and maybe one or two others it seems like there is always something McCarthy does that makes me facepalm.

I just do not think that will be what happens here. I think McCarthy will remain the HC.

Very possibly. Apparently they are “evaluating” Kellen Moore today.

Bill Parcells gets it. Kellen Moore must go.

I want the Cowboys to wait until the 3rd or 4th to draft a RB but it would be really nice to see Tony Pollard paired with Bijan Robinson.

That's fantastic. That makes Zeke's contract look like an absolute bargain.

Choosing Gallup over Amari was truly a train wreck of a decision. smh

Oh well, maybe Gallup will see that next season his future is on the line and play all out on a contract year. Just have to cross our fingers and hope he fixes himself.

I expect Gallup to be better next season after being more than and year removed from his injury. With that said he should be the #3 WR behind Lamb and whoever they draft or sign.

I agree. Most players take a full year to recover from a nasty knee injury like the one he had. I expect Gallop to be much better and 100% next season.

I look forward to seeing our new offensive scheme whatever that may be. But we need 1 more solid WR.

We don't need anything elite because I believe in Lamb and I believe he will prime out as a top-5 WR over the next few years.

We need a WR who is a "top-20"ish WR and DeAndre Hopkins is about that now. He will work.

Hopkins is now on the wrong side of 30 & was popped for PED's this past year.

Right so he probably won't cost much to obtain and we don't need him to be a lead WR.

He's probably a top-20 level WR now and that is perfect.

Amazing watching Mahomes last night down three WR's in the second half and still pulls out a win and a trip to another Super Bowl. Many in the general forum said the Chiefs were done after letting Tyreek Hill go before the season even started and wouldn't even win their division.
Yet our QB can't even win two consecutive playoff games with better WR's.

Next season is going to be a ****. McCarthy will be the primary play caller. We’re going to really find out why Packers fans hate the guy. Personally I think the Jones’ are setting him up to fail. If he doesn’t get this team to the SB he’s definitely out.

If you notice Sean Payton hasn’t landed a job yet and it’s looking like he’s going to wait 1 more year before getting back in to coaching. By next off season his contract with the Saints will have expired so Payton should be free to sign with whoever he wants without having to give the Saints compensation.

So feed McCarthy enough rope to hang himself. Jerry will get what he wants he just has to wait 1 more season.
