I have to admit based on what I’m hearing about Schoonmaker the TE’s should be a force this season. Schoonmaker, Ferguson, and Hendershot are all going to be weapons in the passing game.

Also appears Schoonmaker has reached out to Jason Witten for advice or tips.

Of course he has been saying that for 7 years now. When is he gonna get better?

Believe it or not he’s getting good odds to win the MVP this year.

Because its you, lets make a friendly wager. Case of beer or dinner, winners choice. With McCarthy as head coach, Dumb Dak Prescott WILL NOT win MVP or come close to even sniffing it. No way in hell you can even consider him in the same breathe with the likes of Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Rodgers, etc,. Dak isn't even a top 10 QB in the league. Frankly, to me, its insulting to even compare Dak to Mahomes and Burrow. But that's just me.

That is why I posted a couple times before the draft that I felt comfortable with the TE's we already had. Schoonmaker is still a head scratching pick to me, not because he is not a decent TE, but because I thought Drew Sanders, O'Cyrus Torrence, Zach Charbonnet and John Michael Schmits would have been more impactful imho.

Wait, wait, wait, I never said I thought he would win MVP. Only that he has great odds to win MVP. That’s according to the “experts”. I think Dak will put up great numbers during the regular season and will be in the MVP conversation it he won’t win it. My money is on Aaron Rodgers this year. I think he and the Jets are going to wreck shop in the AFC East this year. The Jets are also my SB pick for the AFC.

You can still watch Charbonnet on Sundays, my guy!

Zach is in black (left). I think Pete is starting to show his age.

Looks like the Giants scooped up Schmitz, one pick prior. I am kind of surprised they passed on Sanders & Torrence though.

Agree on your Dak prediction. Disagree on your Jets prediction. I don't know how you could have anything but KC from the AFC.

I'm glad you cleared that up. I was beginning to worry about you. :gossip: Jets will be much better this yer. But I can't see Rodgers getting an easy ride to the Super Bowl. Hard seeing him take down Allen, Burrow and Mahomes in 3 consecutive weeks just to make it to the big dance. Just to have a chance, Rodgers and the Jets would have to be the number 1 seed and not play in the wild card week, then host 2 home game games and have everything go their way. Hard to imagine that my friend. Possible yeah, but highly unlikely imho.

I bet Walker is not too happy. He's not the only big cheese in the backfield anymore.

Chiefs will have a better team than they had last year. Kinda scary to say the least.

He'll be much happier when he's healthy. He hasn't been run into the ground.

You got to have atleast two good RB's nowadays. The Hawks might have three now, with Kenny McIntosh in the fold as well.

This team has been hit hard by injuries at the position. Which is why they've loaded up.

KC will be there for sure but they can’t win it every year. I just think the Jets are loading up and are going to be a force this season in the AFC.

Not every year but they have 2 in 4 years. They need to win at least one back to back Super Bowl for them to be compared to all the others who have done it. Same for Mahomes and his legacy. Until Kelce and Andy Reid retires, barring serious key injuries, they will always be in it.

They’re very capable that’s for sure. I just think Rodgers will win 1 more before he retires this season seems like it could be his year. He’s going to be out to make the Packers look bad, especially if Jordan Love sucks.

You may be right if all goes perfect and injures don't become an issue. I just think Rodgers has a very tough road in their own division for starters. Dealing with Miami and Buffalo won't be a picnic. And if he can survive all that he will have Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson, Lawrence and Herbert waiting in the wings for a playoff match up. I suppose if the Jets can win their division and get the number 1 seed, then I'm with you and they might have a good shot at it. Outside that, I don't see it.

I can see the Jets making a little noise, and Wilson Garrett opening eyes. A playoff appearance and maybe a win. I can't see them in the Super Bowl though. Rodgers is still a good QB but he isn't what he used to be and KC is too good.

What has Herbert ever done to be rated this high? He is the definition of overrated.

Dak did better than Lawrence last season, and Rodgers, arguably Cousins. I'll take it though, I generally view Dak as a fringe top-10 QB

Witten learned from one of the best in Bavaro. I like this.

Help me out here. What's going on all of a sudden. Why is there chirp out there about extending Dumb Dak's contract? Haven't we been in hell with him long enough after 7 years with another wasted year or two to come? WTF.

Watched ESPN for the first time in a while this morning. Not much on early in the morning on Memorial Day so I chimed in. I guess I'm not the only one who hates Dak these days. Chris Canty stated that he doesn't believe the Cowboys will even make the playoffs. His reasoning was he has absolutely no faith in Dumb Dak and thinks getting rid of Kellen Moore was a bad idea. I'm not so sure I agree with him on everything on this one. First of all, I know our defense will be kick ass and elite. I do agree with him and many others lately that Dumb Dak IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FOR THE COWBOYS. I mean this just wasn't last year, but when you combine a small sample size of just the last two years, Dumbazz Dak has had 35 turnovers in the last 31 games he has started and played. Like I already didn't know that. I was completely done with Prescott 3 years ago and he hasn't let me down yet.
There was also a mentioning of Hopkins coming to the Cowboys since he has recently been let go by Arizona. I'm against it but Jerry hasn't screwed up yet this year and he is way over due for a **** up. I say get another RB and run, run run this year to go along with our nasty defense we will have. Getting Hopkins will only encourage more throwing by Dak which will lead to more int's and we will lose, lose, lose. Stick with the dam plan. Jesus.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
