I don’t think Ronald Jones makes the final roster.

TonyPollard
Duece Vaughn
Malik Davis
Hunter Luepke
Rico Dowdle

I think that will be the RB room for this season. There has still been a lot of talk about Zeke coming back on a minimum contract but I think that only happens if there is a major injury. I think Vaughn and Luepke are going to really surprise some people.

Isn't Luepke a FB?

Vaughn's story is interesting. But he's more of a receiving/3rd down back.

The other names I don't recognize. But based off that list, I would be slightly worried. Especially if Pollard can't go.

Malik Davis and Rico Dowdle have been in Dallas for about 2 years now. Davis has been the 3rd RB during that time. I also think you are seriously underestimating the impact Vaughn is going to have. The only way I see Zeke getting signed is if there is an injury. Luepke is more of an H-Back instead of a FB. McCarthy has always had a guy like this in his offense. He’ll catch passes and get a few runs each game.

Dalvin Cook or Kareem Hunt are much better options.

We don’t need any of those over priced injury prone RB’s. They’re better off going young. Malik Davis will be the surprise breakout RB this season.

Dalvin Cook would eat behind that line. If I'm Jerry, I'm getting him on a plane to Dallas ASAP!!

I'm surprised he hasn't signed with anyone yet.

He’s injury prone, wants to start, and makes too much money for the position. No surprise at all that he hasn’t been signed.

Cook is still one of the better backs in the league when healthy. Minnesota cut him for cap reasons. But he has more gas in the tank than Zeke.

Dalvin Cook is looking for a huge deal, a big pay day. Whereas Zeke could probably be had for a cheap 1 year deal.

Zeke was good in short yardage, his prime is behind him but he is still a competent vet RB.

The chatter I'm hearing is that Deuce Vaughn is the next coming of Darren Sproules.

I would expect his asking price to go way down as training camp and preseason start and he remains unsigned. he might end up saying the hell with it and take a lower salary to win a chip.

Zack Martin is unhappy with his current contract, feels he is being under paid and is now considering not showing up for training camp. I knew something was about to burst. Something always does with this franchise. The most important OL we have. TAKE CARE OF HIM. Damn, what's wrong with you people.

I wonder how much legitimacy there is to that report. I 100% understand he could be upset with his pay relative to other linemen, but it doesn't seem like a Zack Martin thing to do.

The story should be coming out soon. Wouldn't be surprised if ESPN and NFL network among others start talking about it today.

Are you still questioning the report now? Out best talent and best player on the offensive side of the ball is unhappy and I don't blame him a bit. I knew it was coming. Jerry has been way too quiet so far this year and everything till now has gone well since the draft. Dak's QBR is low enough and goes down 21 points with Zack Martin out of the line up. I don't want to hear super bowl, championship appearances or deep playoff runs till this matter is dealt with. Jerry world is back and kicking. Get your pop corn out. Same ole, same ole, what can go wrong, will go wrong in Jerry world. Anyways, onward through the fog once again.

It's all based around a Schefter tweet. Martin himself hasn't said anything. But my 2 cents:

1. He signed the contract
2. He got $84m with $40m guaranteed, $14m per year average. It's really not as bad as Schefter makes it sound.

It also looks like it's somewhat based around his newly released madden rating of 99 which Martin keeps retweeting.

Madden ratings shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone. If players are using those in salary talks that is crazy.

He’s 32 and likely looking for 1 last big payday. From my understanding he’s being paid $7M less than the top Guard. This year he’s ranked as the best Guard in football though. He really hasn’t had a ton of injuries so I would actually pay him and make sure he retires a Dallas Cowboy.

And for 27 years and running, Jerry is still a major weakness. OL might be a concern with what I am hearing about Steele's recovery from knee surgery.

So, depth at OT & RB? That's it?

Depth at LB is a concern.

I'm hearing good things about DeMarvion Overshown. But you've always known me, we can never have enough LB's. Even if on a one year deal till we can draft another one again Next year. I remember how thin were we for 3 weeks last season when LVE was out. We were terrible vs. the run during that time. Don't you think Mazi will have a huge impact in that department?

I have a question for the mods, if any post here. How can someone that applied to RealGM get approved? I know someone that applied 3 days ago but hasn’t been approved or denied.

There are a few guys trying to sign up from a different message board that is shutting down. They are trying to migrate over here but some have been waiting several days to get approved. I’ve been posting with them for several years on that other site and those guys would bring more life to this site in my opinion. A few Cowboys fans and a lot of Eagles fans.

Oh...I understand the delay then.

1. Howard is the top of the food chain. Everything is approved by him.

2. Mods have no influence in this area.

3. They'll be approved in short order.
